Wilson Tournament Fishing

With the Wilson KSA/NSBA just a few days away I sure wish the weather would settle down but that's Kansas fishing for you. The water temp is mid-60's with the upper end of the lake colored to muddy. The stripers are pre-spawn with a few just starting to spawn. At this writing the fish are shallow and scattered lake wide. Cut bait, live bait fished from 2 to 30 feet will produce stripers. I am sure a topwater thrown to the right point will produce a big fish, but my money is on live bait for this one. In the last 3 May events it has taken a striper in the 20 pound class to win, I predict this year it will take a 25 pound or better to win. I have heard from fisherman from Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska who are planning on fishing with us this year. Good luck to all, Jack Hoskinson Pres. KSA
