Well met,

Pop quiz...

Which is more cathartic? Shooting your brother twice in kidneys? Running around screaming as pellets whizz past your ears?

If you answered a), then you've won... well, nothing really. But you do have the chance to find out about what fun was had by those EBs of us (including your illustrious site-manageress who looked simply *stunning* in giggle hat and camouflage smock) who went paintballing. Even if ye didnae answer a), you still can.

After minor troubles to begin with (driving with the fuel light on is *bad*, Mr D), we got there, got our guns, got the rundown and had some fun!!!!!!

It was like the first reel of Saving Private Ryan, only without the blood, death, Tom Hanks or being in France. So, actually, it wasn't *that* much like the first reel of Saving Private Ryan...

The point I'm trying to make is that the whirring noise as a paintball hums past your ear really focuses the mind and the most satisfying rush of adrenaline is released when you run across open ground with no sound but your breathing and the rattling of your paintballs in your ears, then dive behind cover at which point you can hear the *thup thup thup* of said cover being liberally peppered with paint.

With the overall winners being Predator Paintball Inc. (we went through about 2500 rounds between the 9 of us - Steve got through about 700, I got through about 500 :) ), much fun and pain was had by all.

To sum up; friendly fire isn't, they hurt more when they *don't* burst and the paint tastes quite bitter.

The wound of the day was a tie between Sam IVs throat-hit courtesy of Callum, and Ratti's head-shot, courtesy of Matt (I think) and the quoet of the day was from Sam Iv, who, after leading a defeated Callum from the field of play at gun-point said; 'You are defeated. By the rules of war, that makes you my be-atch.' :)

And who wants to go again? Well *I* do!! The next one will be a not limited to ten, make sure you're *really* able to come session some time hopefully in September. Interested? Call me! I'm not sure about challenging the guys what work there, but who wouldn't pay good money for a chance to raise a few welts on his mates, 'eh?

In all seriousness, I hope to be booked by mid-late July, so get calling. The choices will (hopefully) by out of the four Saturdays in September, and I'll draw up a 'who can come when' thingy to work out which one.

So, until next time, adios and good splatting (oh, and re the first round of the Medic Game... Who's house? *my* house! :) )...

The Dark, still aching a *lot*, Virgin...
