Together we assist each other through internet in this mail order business. I have joined it firstly from email from abroad. But at that time I did not widely promote this email programme. So, it was not very successful until when I have found the same email but in Malay and the participants are from Malaysia; the same programme but only translated to Malay. I joined the programme again and now I am convinced that I will succeed if I follow the system thoroughly. With intensive promotion through email and this website, we will hand in hand help each other to overcome our financial difficulties. I am indeed facing financial difficulties, so I am trying to work it out through this programme. I am helping myself besides helping others too. Hopefully with this programme, I will not be tied up with debts and manage to settle all the outstanding debts. I humbly hope that all of you kind people out there will help me, to help others and also to help YOURSELF. Act fast to join it to settle all our financial difficulties.
I still remember a while back, I was browsing through newsgroup, and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00! So I thought, "Yeah, right, this must be a scam", but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that you send $1.00 to each of the 6 names and address stated in the article. You then place your own name and address in the bottom of the list at #6, and post the article in at least 200 Newsgroup. (There are thousands) No catch, that was it. So after thinking it over, and talking to few people first, I thought about trying it. I figured what have I got to lose except 6 stamps and $6.00, right?
Then I invested the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT!!....... Within 7 days, I started getting money in the mail! I was shocked! I figured it would end soon, but the money just kept coming in. In my first week, I made about $25.00. By the end second week I had made a total over $1,000.00! In the third week I had over $10,000.00 and it is still growing. And at my fourth week and I have made a total of just over $42,000.00 and it is still coming in rapidly. It’s certainly worth $6.00, and 6 stamps, I have spent more than that on the lottery!! Let me tell you how this works and most importantly, why it works.......also, make sure you print a copy of this article NOW, so you can get the information off of it as you need it. I promise you that if you follow the directions exactly, that you will start making more money than you thought possible by doing something so easy!
Suggestion: Read this entire message carefully! Follow the simple directions and watch the money comes in! It’s easy. It’s legal. This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. Please continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions. You will now become part of the Mail Order business. In this business your product is not solid and tangible, it’s a service. You are in the business of developing Mailing Lists. Many large corporations are happy to pay big bucks for quality lists. However, the money made from the mailing lists is secondary to the income which is made from people like you and me asking to be included in that list.
Please look at the copy of this programme and understand the contents. Please follow the steps. Firstly, you will be asked to send US1 dollar to the participants’ addresses or you can convert it to your own currency rate of your country (but must be equivalent to 1US$). Clear steps are explained in the email below. After that, you copy and paste this email either in word or in email. You only have to change or shift the participants’ names in the list.
HOW TO START. FIRST STEP ( VERY IMPORTANT – PLEASE UNDERSTAND ).
STEP 1.
Delete 1st participant because he/she is out of the list. But make sure you take down the name and the address of that participant.
STEP 2.
Copy and paste 2nd participant’s name and address and put in the 1st list.
STEP 3.
Copy and paste 3rd participant’s name and address and put in the 2nd list.
STEP 4.
Copy and paste 4th participant’s name and address and put in the 3rd list.
STEP 5.
Copy and paste 5th participant’s name and address and put in the 4th list.
STEP 6.
Copy and paste 6th participant’s name and address and put in the 5th list.
STEP 7.
Insert your name and address as the 6th participant.
STEP 8. ( Last step ).
After that save or keep the leaflet of the list of the participants that you have changed. Then you can email to as many as possible people to join you in this programme. To get a very rewarding income and to help others with only a little capital affordable to all of us but we will get an unexpected income if we promote this programme endlessly.
Important facts for this programme.
1. Is it legal?
This question has been verified by one of the participant from USA. He referred this matter to “title 18 section 1302 of the U.S. Postal & lottery laws”. This programme is similar to the chain letter but since every leaflet is completed with detail information about the system of this programme, therefore it is legal. There are quite a few similar letters around, but this one is different because there are six names at the end of the letter, not five like some others. This fact alone results in your name being in far more returns. The facts below make sure the whole thing was legal, since no one wants to take the risk of doing something illegal.
By now you are surely curious to know what small changes to make. If you sent a letter like this one out, in order to be completely legal, you must actually sell something in order to receive a dollar in return. So when you send a dollar to each of the names on the list, you must include these words, "PLEASE PUT ME INTO YOUR MAILING LIST" and include your name and address. This is the key to the program. The item you will receive for the dollar you sent to the six people below is the letter. You are requesting for a legitimate service and you are paying for it.
2. Is it fraud or scam?
Unlike chain letters, whereby the recipient is somehow “threatened” to do what is required by that letter, this programme gives a choice to the recipient to ignore or disregard this programme. Besides that, with all detail information which is included, makes this programme is a legal business and will benefit to all participants (if they follow the system).
3. Is it good?
Of course yes. Because whoever sends this leaflet indefatigably, then they will have a chance to get a handsome income.
IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR YOU:
1. IMPORTANT: This programme is not a fraud or scam and it is not against law and it is ALMOST has no RISK!!! If you are HONEST and DILIGENT to send out this leaflet, you will get a very rewarding income.
2. PAY ATTENTION: PLEASE FOLLOW STRICTLY ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN. If you follow it, then you have a chance to get 60,000US$ or more (A LOT MORE). This programme succeeds because of the honesty and trust of all the members.
3. With this programme, you join a Mail Order business, whereby, your business does not involve in selling and buying products, but a service business type. The service that you provided is list of correspondences (which requires the participants to pay 1US$ to 6 persons in the list) and the service to tell information to the participants on how to get extra income through internet.
4. Here are a few reasons a person might give for not trying this program: Ø Some people think they can never make a lot of money with anything this simple. Ø Some are afraid they will be ridiculed for trying Ø Some dream of large sums of money, but do nothing to actually achieve it. Ø Some are just plain lazy. Ø Some are afraid of losing their investment. They think this program is designed to beat them out of a few dollars. The system works if you will just try it. But you must follow the simple instructions exactly, and in less than three months, you will receive $800,000 GUARANTEED! Keep what you are doing to yourself for awhile. Many will tell you it won’t work and will try to talk you out of your dreams. Let them know of your success after it works.
STEPS AND ACTION PLANS.
1. Get 6 pieces of paper (ordinary size – A4) and 6 envelop and write on each piece of the paper: “PLEASE PUT ME INTO YOUR MAILING LIST”, your NAME and your ADDRESS. Then fold the paper to the envelope size and put 1US$ inside. ***Very important***.
2. To avoid any discrepancies, please send the money in NOTE (do not send coins because it is too heavy) and insert the notes inside each of the said papers (to prevent thievery, you are advised to wrap the notes with a dark paper so that other people cannot see what is inside).
3. Put the paper and the money inside the envelope which you have prepared earlier. This means you have 6 letters with 1US$ each and a letter containing your name, address and the above mentioned wording. What you are doing is a legal service and it does not involve any fraud, so you do not have to be worried with what you are doing. Then, make sure that the envelope containing the money and the paper is sealed tightly and post it to these addresses below:
1st Participant Letter:
Sitti 'Aaisyah 'Aafiyfah, No. 146, TB7686, Jalan Bunga Raya, Taman Da Hua 3, Lorong Zamrud, 91000 Tawau, Sabah, MALAYSIA.
2nd Participant Letter:

4. Please be reminded that you have to send the NOTE (1US$) to each of the participants as soon as possible to the addresses given. YOU CAN USE NICK NAMES BUT MAKE SURE THAT YOUR ADDRESS IS CORRECT!! Save your new leaflet in an easy form like *.txt and send it through internet. There are 2 ways to send your leaflet; either through website NEWSGROUP (DISCUSSION, FORUM or MESSAGE BOARD) or through EMAIL and CHAT or better still if you use ALL methods to MAXIMIZE YOUR PROFITS. Explanation on the benefits and how to send (please refer below).
SENDING THE LEAFLETS THROUGH NEWSGROUP.
1. Through newsgroup i.e. website which contain discussion, forum or message board, you will get benefits without knowing who read your leaflet. Even though in respect of security it is not really safe because you cannot control those under you, but you can spread your leaflet to more than 5,000 people at one time. Look at this fact, all over the world, there are more than 32,000 discussion website and in a day, more than 5,000 people visit the website. And there is approximately 2 BILLION registered user and everyday more than 50,000 new user register, just imagine how many people that will send your leaflet containing your name and address. And each of those who copied your leaflet will send 1US$ to you!!! If within 2 months, 50,000 people send 1US$ to you, you will get 50,000US$!!!! That is such an amount. So do not hesitate.
2. You do not need to re-type this entire letter to do your own posting. Simply put your cursor at the beginning of this letter and drag your Cursor to the bottom of this document, and select ´copy´ from the edit menu. This will copy the entire letter into the computer memory.
3. Open a blank ´notepad´ file and place your cursor at the top of the blank page. From the ´edit´ menu select ´paste´. This will paste a copy of the letter into notepad so that you can add your name to the list.
4. Save your new notepad file as a .txt file. If you want to do your postings in different sittings, you’ll always have this file to go back to.
5. Use Netscape or Internet explorer and try searching for various newsgroups (on-line forums, message boards, chat sites, discussions.) Just example you log on any search engine like yahoo.com, google.com, altavista.com, excite.com, etc., and then you search with this subject ´´millionaire message board´´ or ´´money making message board´´ or ´´employment message board´´ or ´´money making discussions´´ or ´´money making forum´´ or ´´business message board´´ etc. You will find thousands & thousands of message boards. Click one by one then you will find the option post a new message.
6. Visit these message boards and post this article as a new message by highlighting the text of this letter and selecting paste from the edit menu. Fill in the Subject, this will be the header that everyone sees as they scroll through the list of postings in a particular group, click the post message button. You’re done with your first one! Congratulations...... THAT´S IT! All you have to do is jump to different newsgroups and post away, after you get the hang of it, and it will take about 30 seconds for each newsgroup! ** REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUPS OR MESSAGE BOARD YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE!! BUT YOU HAVE TO POST A MINIMUM OF 200** That’s it!
7. When you have completed the instructions, take this letter and then go to (Google, Yahoo,...) and type in (Making Money Message board, or post message,...)and start posting your copy to 200 message boards, or more, this is only the minimum, you can post as much as you like...The more copies you send the better the results. Keep a copy of this letter so you can use it a second time. Post it out again in six months, but Post it with the addresses you receive with each dollar.
HOW TO SEND THROUGH EMAIL/CHAT.
Through email and chat, you can control and verify those who are dishonest in this programme. Although there is a restriction in term of number of people whom you can share this programme with, if you use email and chat, but you can control them easily and easy to influence them to do this programme. For instance, if you can send 300 emails, then only 300 people will get your leaflet. If these 300 people believe this programme, then you already have 300US$ and if each of them manage to get 300 other people, then just imagine how much is your profits.
The most effective way to send your leaflet is through Newsgroup.
EXAMPLE: (IF ALL PARTICIPANTS WORK TOGETHER, HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY).
(i) If you can email 10 people and you are at #6 then you will get (10 ppl x 1US$) = 10US$. (You have your capital back).
(ii) If the said 10 people can get 10 others under each of them (10 x 10 = 100 ppl), remember now you are at #5, then you will get (100 ppl x 1US$) = 100US$!!!!
(iii) Then, if each of the said 100 people get 10 others under each of them (100 x 10 = 1,000 ppl), now you are at #4, then you will get (1,000 ppl x 1US$) = 1,000US$.
(iv) After this is awesome…OK, let say the said 1,000 people get 10 others under each of them (1,000 x 10 = 10,000 ppl) and you are at #3, you will get (10,000 ppl x 1US$) = 10,000US$ WOW!!!
(v) Now, you are at #2 and if the said 10,000 people get 10 others under each of them (10,000 x 10 = 100,000 ppl) then you will get (100,000 ppl x 1US$) = 100,000.00US$!!! So how? Interesting isn't it? But wait!! There is more.
(vi) This time if the said 100,000 people mentioned get 10 others under each of them (100,000 x 10 = 1,000,000 ppl) and now you are at the top of the list #1, then you will get (1,000,000 ppl x 1US$) = 1,000,000US$!!! And this remarkable!!!!!!
(vii) Then when your name is out from the list, just take one of the latest leaflet from the internet, send 6US$ (or in your currency – if you do it in your country) to those in the latest list and do all the steps as what you have done before. Remember, as long as you do it HONESTLY and TRUSTWORTHILY then this business may become your source of income in the future. Moreover, if you do if correctly, you may do not have to work in the future. Have no fear, even though there are dishonest people out there, but have faith that there are more honest and trustworthy people who are willing to do it. What hinders you from making your first step? Remember, there are about 2 BILLION registered internet users all over the world and more than 50,000 new user register everyday in this world!!! So have no doubt.
REMINDER AND WARNING.
If you intend to do it in a dishonest manner i.e. do not want to pay 6US$ to those in the list, you will not get much from this programme. Some of my friends tried to do like that. One of them only get about 10US$ within 4 weeks and some of them only managed to get 100US$ (and that was within 4 months). In the end he followed the instructions in this leaflet and 2 weeks after that he managed to get more than 5,000US$. Please ensure that you are HONEST and make sure that those under you also HONEST, then big profit will be yours. And, if you happened to stop receiving money, what you have to do is look for the latest leaflet and use the addresses in the leaflet and you start this programme again!!! If you do not do it, then you are a DISHONEST person, therefore be a trustworthy person and you will be bless. GOOD LUCK!!! And do not forget to announce your income!!!
IMPORTANT NOTES.
You have to remember that there are MORE than 2 BILLION people in the world, so try now. You also can try this programme in the neighbouring countries and also other countries. A lot of other countries which are yet to get the information about this system i.e. South East Asia, Africa, India, Middle East and lot more. You can use English to send your leaflet or better still if you can translate it to other languages. But please make sure that you play HONESTLY without changing the names in the list because this business programme is based on HONESTY and its successfulness is also based on HONESTY, so please do not spoil or distort this programme.
This programme is based on Network Marketing concept. Each of us has 24 hours per day to do our daily activities. A millionaire also has the same time with an office boy. But why then there is a vast difference in respect of their income? The reason is because the former knows a secret which is unknown to the latter. So, what is the secret? The secret is that one can do a lot of jobs (productivity) by not doing it all alone but teaching others to do exactly what he is doing.
An oil millionaire, J. Paul Getty, once said, “I appreciate the value of 1% work done by 100 people rather than 100% work done by one person only”. And what is said by Getty actually activates the Network Marketing industry. This concept has been widely used by businesses nowadays i.e. MLM, Franchise business and etc. This method is called DUPLICATION. This programme is using the same method; the only difference is this programme does not involve selling and buying products but merely a service business type.
Since this is an international programme, so all the transaction will be in US$ (if you start this programme in your own country, you can use your own currency, provided that it is equivalent to US$). Therefore, if you are required to send money to abroad, then convert your currency to US$ and then you have to pay a bit extra for posting. But never mind because the profit that you will get is so unbelievable. And perhaps you will have to rent a P.O. Box from Post Office because of the huge amount of letters that you will receive. Just imagine that you receive 50,000 letters!!!!
If you do not want to do this programme, then I suggest that you forward or print this leaflet and give it to your friends or relatives who need money and see what will happen. Send the money to each and everyone in the list although that they are from overseas and follow what is instructed. If you do that, actually you are expanding your business to every part of this world and this will ensure big profits for you and your family!
NOTE: Keep a copy of these steps for yourself and whenever you need money, you can use it again and again. You may want to retain every name and address sent to you, either on a computer or hard copy and keep the notes people send you. This VERIFIES that you are truly providing a service. Also, it might be a good idea to wrap the cash in dark paper to reduce the risk of mail theft. REMEMBER, THE MORE NEWSGROUP YOU POST IN, THE MORE MONEY YOU WILL MAKE! THIS SYSTEM IS PERFECTLY LEGAL. It is a business. It is part of the mail order business. By receiving money from others, you do not offer them a lottery or any prize based on chance; you simply offer a service (placing them on your mailing list), which they request in their letter.
To make this clear this is a service a consumer desires something (being put on your mailing list) and is willing to pay for it, and you fulfill their desire by performing the service of putting their name on your mailing list for a set fee and by sending money to others and writing “PLEASE PUT ME ON YOUR MAILING LIST”. This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity of the participants. The success of this system relies on you being totally honest and following the rules, trying to con the system will not work. Please continue its success by carefully adhering to the instructions. You will now become part of the MAIL ORDER business. In this business your product is not solid and tangible, it’s a service! You are in the business of developing Mailing lists.
This is not a fraud…you are not forced to join this programme. Honesty among the participants is the main aspect. If we are all honest, money will flow every hour to our pocket. Try this programme, help yourself and at the same time you are helping other people too. Thank you.

- Gotta love the English language -- US-style -- David H, 20:15:16 09/15/02 Sun
Heard on ABC NewsRadio just before 8pm tonight: The new US edition of the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary, being released this week, includes the word "tardis" -- but the definition of the term is more along the lines of "something bigger on the inside than the outside"...
Hmmm... I suppose this means "dimensionally transcendental" has to wait for the next edition while they try to figure out a new definition for that... hehehehe

A POEM FROM BOOK "IF LOVE CAN SPEAK"
By H.D. ELIJAH, ISBN 1-4033-5556-8
Available to order at all bookstore websites.
I see the leaves flutter
and it stung my eyes with tears
I ask why for wind came
When it didn't bring you here?
I hear those haunting cries
Of laughters running cold
And voices that can't find
their custom way to home
With images forgotten
And restless truths, untold,
Ghostly footsteps trodden
From memories ago...
It's no wonder clear ahead
Are nights thirsting for dews
Nights yenning to forget
The need to be with you.
The day when such agony
can gratify this wait
And avail my flow of tears
to route out my escape
When love fetters me no more
No more shall I covet
The heart that's always yours
and what of mine you kept.
When pain shackles in regress
Unlearning what I know...
I must've died a thousand deaths
before my letting go.
I see the passing of dreams
and it broke me down in tears.
I ask why for Dreams came
when they didn't bring you here?

- Steve's an old fart -- Steve, 14:12:56 10/14/04 Thu
Well, maybe not just yet, but seeing as this is my 30th year on this earth, and Erin's 27th, we figured we'd have a bit of a bash to celebrate.
So...we've booked dinner at Turk'Oz in Dickson on Saturday the 30th starting at 7pm. If you would like to come along and commiserate with me, please either shoot me an SMS to let me know, or give me a call. We're looking at their $25 banquet, with Drinks extra. Depending on how things pan out, we'll either be kicking onto Edgar's Pub at Ainslie shops, or worst case, pouring ourselves across the road the Paddy O'Chin's...or is it O'Neil's?
Sorry for the Short notice, but we do need to know by the 22nd if you will be coming along.
hope to see you all there!

- The Election -- Miss November, 21:19:37 10/09/04 Sat
Okay, I know it’s only early days in the tally room, but I’m getting nervous. What if John Howard gets re-elected - again? It’s a terrifying prospect. We can all hope, and prey (to whichever deity takes your fancy) and of course, we’ve voted, not only because it’s compulsory, but because it’s the right thing to do, we want to do it. We need to show Howard that it’s well past time to go.
But what if… What if the unthinkable happens and he gets re-elected? One frightening prospect is that, in the eyes of history, he’ll look like a popular Prime Minister. Our Encyclopaedia Britannica won’t show what few options we had available at the time of the last election. They won’t tell us that Labor had no policies and the Democrats had no (real) leader, they won’t mention Simon Crean (would you?) they will just duly record John Howard’s term in office, and that the Australian public kept re-electing this guy. We’ll look like a bunch of racist red-neck twits aspiring to be American racist red-neck twits, future generations will think we must have loved him, we let him give us a new tax system and take us to war!
But if the unspeakable happens, I have an answer.
There must be thousands upon thousands of people who want ‘Honest’ John out of office, and of those thousands and thousands, there must be a fair number of very attractive young ladies out there, so my solution is this: sex.
Now, I know that the words ‘sex’ and ‘John Howard’ should never be used together in the same sentence, but desperate times call for desperate measures. What if Monica didn’t really like Bill Clinton, she hated him and wanted him out of office? Perhaps she wasn’t just a naive 20-year-old girl; she was a political mastermind - we can use this! Instead of protesting against John Howard, we need someone to procreate with him… (Okay, perhaps procreate is taking it a bit too far - could you explain to a small child that John Howard is their father?).
This is assuming everything is still in working order - he has just turned 65, but those morning power walks should keep him relatively fit and the circulation flowing.
What this country needs is one willing young lady to get close to the PM, seduce (shudder) him, and perhaps keep her blue dress in the wardrobe instead of taking it to the dry cleaner. If John dubya Howard is so keen to follow the example of an American president, then so shall we, albeit a different one. And it surely wouldn’t be too hard. How many chicks are throwing themselves at Johnny (those rumours about Pru aside)? Bill could have had just about anyone, and he still went for Monica.
If we could get someone Shallow Hal style, that would be perfect. Someone that Howard thinks is just fantastic, but who the Australian public (and more importantly, the Australian Press) see warts and all - after all, we don’t want this to backfire and make the guy look interesting or popular! Today Tonight wouldn’t know what to do with themselves, and if we could get her to videotape it and sell it for an undisclosed sum to channel 9, she could go to a tropical island until it all blows over and Mrs Latham is happily redecorating the lodge.
Come on girls, do it for your country.

Please call us and if ye don't know our address, we can fill ye in. :)

- U.S travellin' y'all -- Sam IV, 12:17:24 07/05/02 Fri
Hey there,
I recently went on a camping trip in another country and went through some of the most worrying areas:
Middle America.
I started in Winnipeg which is basically the Adelaide of Canada. It's smack in the middle and there are heaps of churches. Our trip was directly south across the U.S border and firstly into North Dakota. Crossing U.S customs and immigration in the current political climate is pretty interesting. We (myself, my cousin Claire, her boyfriend Chris and her penpal from Holland Sabine), had our passports examined multiple times, visa questions asked and plenty of direct questions about how many firearms and explosives we had. I felt like replying "why none, we're heading to South Dakota. Surely we can get some there?"
Probably wouldn't be well receieved.
We got through and headed into the farming areas followed by the badlands that stretch a long way. In a sense it wasn't that different from driving in Australia, there was loads of bugger all inbetween our stops.
We packed enough food to sink a battleship but that didn't stop us going to Maccas after we discovered that we put the esky in first and loaded all the luggage on top of it.
It was there that I discovered my very first Maccas where they didn't know about credit card transactions...
Travellers cheques also confused them...
I was hungry enough to consider giving barter a try when the manager recognised the travellers cheque and cashed it for me.
We eventually stopped for the night at a motel. Then saw the prices. Then went to another motel. Repeat process. Eventually we stayed in a dodgy little place with a guy who must have served in an artillery unit given his projection, serving at the front desk. I wouldn't have minded so much but it seemed that he gave the wake up calls the following morning as well.
It was a pretty nice place but I had my suspicions since there seemed to be an endless supply of barely clothed young women and older men going in and out of the other wing of the motel.
No I didn't check it out.
We left around nine thirty in the morning and to give you an idea of the weather it was already 34 degrees. It would eventually reach 43 but we were in the car for most of the day.
This was the day we reached South Dakota, a state which really wears it's politics on it's sleeves. And front, back, side, cuffs and anywhere else you could conceivably fit an American flag. There are prominent billboards on the highway of things like "SOUTH DAKOTA DOES NOT WELCOME ANIMAL ACTIVISTS, ABORTION: THE CHOICE THAT KILLS, IF YOU BRING ILLEGAL DRUGS INTO SOUTH DAKOTA, YOU'D BETTER BE PREPARED TO STAY A REAL LONG TIME."
September 11 has had a real insulating effect on this place. There are jesus T-shirts, Bald Eagles with flags in every window, Bald Eagles with bullet wounds in every zoo, people had trouble understanding my accent and there are some you can almost see nodding their heads and saying; "you know, that Bush fella sure does make some sense."
But the scenery and countryside is fantastic.
It's a glorious place to go and enjoy yourself if you're into the outdoors. Unfortunately I didn't get to go outdoor rock climbing because of the cost and the heat stopped the tours. But I had a great time seeing bears, wolves and deer in places where they literally spray you down when you get too hot. It's great!
We cooked our dinner in our snug campsite each night in the shade of the enormous campervans in the opposite parking area. These things are HUGE. I was amazed at the way they could create a tide in the local lakes. People here go camping with sattelite TV, air conditioning, proper refrigeration and the kitchen sink.
Well my time just ran out so I'll say more in mount rushmore later.

- Revenge of the Star Wars Kid. -- Steve, 10:53:45 04/30/04 Fri
Now, I don't know how many of you have heard of the Star Wars Kid. Ghyslain Raza was goofing off at a school video studio and recorded himself fighting a mock battle with a golf ball retriever lightsaber. Over two minutes, the video shows the teenager twirling his mock lightsaber ever faster while making his own accompanying sound effects.
Unfortunately, Ghyslain forgot to take the tape with him when he was done.
Now, as hard as I try, I can't definately give you guys a link to the original SWK video that works, as they are all maxed out. But, if you go to http://www.starwarskid.com/starwarskid_movies.html, you can see such cinematic canons as Kill Bill Volume 0.5, StarWarsKid Reloaded and Lord of the Onion Rings, all featuring Ghyslain. If you just want to see the orginal movie, try the SWK vs South Park, which features about 90% of the original movie.

I know I'm slack and haven't kept much in touch but my girl is throwing me a birthday party and youse is all invited. If you need the address drop me a line.
The Pumpkin Patch proudly presents:
Party Time!
That's right folks, its been several months since the last Pumpkin Patch party, and we're gettin' restless again. So put on yer party frocks an' come along for A Good Time (TM).
This special event is also to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mark's birth, which, due to technical difficulties, we were unable to properly celebrate on the actual date.
Unlike our previous events, there is no theme this time. But don't be discouraged: we still expect you to wear something appropriately (or inappropriately ;p) fabulous.
There is no cover charge for this extravaganza, but please feel free to bring your own entertainment in the form of alcohol, nibblies and music (although there will be a token amount of each provided). If you are interested in contributing to a gift to celebrate the start of Mark's 4th decade, please contact our lovely MC for the evening, Ingrid, either at this address or on her mobile (xxxx-xxx-xxx). Any other queries or RSVPs can also be directed to her. So, now that you're all excited about this fabulous event, I suppose you'll be wanting the details, so here they are:
When: 8pm Saturday 27th March
What: Dancin' an' drinkin' an' other fun stuff
Why: Two reasons:
1) coz we like parties
2) coz it was Mark's 30th in Feb and I was too
slack to organise a party for him then
Who: Pretty much everyone. Please pass the invite on to anyone you think may be interested.
Hope to see you all there ;)
Ingrid
PS appologies if you get this multiple times

Evening, all.
Regular viewers (and even casual ones who look at the dates) will notice that Da Site hasn't been updated a whole lot lately. Obviously, being the site's manager, that's a lot down to me. Nonetheless, things are changing. People are spreading out, Da Book isn't quite as it used to be, a number of us are on weblogs now...and most importantly, I've picked up a few new toys over the past month or three. The 'rebirth' should reflect all of these things.
I've been toying with rebuilding the thing in a major way for some time now, and right about now seems like a good time. So, er, I'll be doing that. It's partly a response to some things people have actually suggested or asked, and partially just stuff I've thought up.
Din' worry, I shan't be taking it down or freezing Da Board while I do this or anything. Might even still sneak a new thing or two in. If anyone's got any prompts or suggestions, feel free to pop 'em on here.

Well, yet again, we have the sound of wedding bells in the air.
Erin and I have decided to get married on the 3rd of January. Being the impulsive, non-planners that we are, we just decided about 6 months ago to get married and engagement be damned. It took us a few months while we let other family members get hitched, have babies and get babies hitched, but we announced it early November.
Now, normally we'd send invites to people, and we did! But, it appears nearly every single invite was eaten by Australia Post, cause not even my relatives got any (tho all of Erin's have...I can see a disturbing trend here..)
So, If you want to come to the ceremony, you are all welcome. Please let Lorinda know if you will be coming, she has all the details handy.
Again, apologies to all that were missed, no insult was intended.

- 'Tis (almost) the Season -- Morpheus, 11:01:16 10/15/03 Wed
The Night before Christmas, on the Tardis
by Siobahn Morgan (with apologies to Clement Moore)
'Twas the night before christmas, when all through the continuum,
Not a chronovore was stirring, for time ad infinituum.
The brolly was hung at the console with care,
In hopes that Rassilon's blessings soon would be there.
Ace was tucked all snug in her bed
As visions of glycerine danced through her head,
And the Doctor in his study, purusing through his journal
Had just settled in for a time seemingly eternal.
When from the consule room there arose such a racket
That Ace jumping up so quickly, nearly forgot her jacket.
Away to the control room they ran like a flash,
Turning the corner in a mad Charlie Chaplin dash.
The gleam from the central column was clear and bright,
So that the intruders were easily in sight.
When what in the consule room their eyes did behold,
But a collection of enemies, some new and some old.
The glint of metal on the casing was a recognizable hue,
That they knew in an instant who was leading the dangerous crew.
Davros' voice grew louder above the din,
As he called on the other villians to come within:
"On Cybermen, on Yeti, on Zarbi, and Sontarons,
On Zygons, on Mandrells, on Fenric and Autons,
To the home of the Doc-tor, down that dark hall,
Now EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE all!"
Such a horrible sight to their eyes did meet,
That the Doctor and Ace beat a hasty retreat.
And to the workshop with all haste they flew,
As the Doctor hopefully would think of something to do.
The monsters just laughed and increased their attack,
As Ace ran on to get her Nitro-9 ladden back pack.
The Doctor took in his plight and looked around,
And Ace set up barricades to hold steady their ground.
Then the evil creatures, with Davros in tow,
Neared the workshop to try and defeat their hated foe.
"One Moment!" cried the Doctor, "Just one moment please!"
To which Fenric replied "Doctor, on your knees!"
"But don't you see", continued the Doctor, "This is all wrong"
To which the Sontarons answered "Yes, Doctor, but not for long"
"I surrender! I surrender!" the Doctor cried most addament,
To which the Cyberleader replied in his deep voice "Excellent"
As they scoffed at his words, and surrounded their prey,
The villians savored his doom and their victory that day.
"We'll waste no time," Davros said, "But we'll destroy you with glee
And then we'll destroy your home world, the hated Gallifrey!"
The Doctor was anxious and worried about his fate,
Hoping the calvary would arrive soon, and not a minute too late.
"For you, Davros, the victory will be quite sour
For you have sealed your own doom within the hour!
For Cybermen I have many gold bombs laid out in traps
And for you others, various things to keep you under wraps
And if that is not enough to destroy your little coup
I can just bring in some executives from the dread BBC too.
They are more fierce then the greatest evil mind,
For they are can instantly cancel you and all of your kind".
Then he sprang to his feet with a curious look on his face
And, playing some spoons, disappeared from the place.
With cans of Nitro, Ace blasted the aliens from sight,
"Oi! Happy Christmas to all, and to all a wicked night!"
Based (loosely) on "A Visit from St. Nicholas" by Clement C. Moore
Adaptation Copyright 1991, Siobahn (Shabang) Morgan

- Me, the getting older one -- Leila, 22:00:07 12/07/03 Sun
Greetings, Bunnies.
Well, I'm not moving to Queensland or getting married or anything impressive like some of my fellows on the board here, but, as often happens when you avoid dying, I am getting older. And to celebrate the anniversary of my getting older, I'm having a bit of a bash. Come along, share a bevvy and join me in getting rather inebriated and bellowing for curry in a loud voice.
DATE: Sunday next week, ie 14 December
TIME: 1500 (3pm)
LOCALE: Filthy's
DRESS: Yes, please
RSVP: If you like; you've mostly got my mobile number
Cheers all!

- Classic Retro -- Morpheus, 14:16:34 12/05/03 Fri
'Kay, found this site while surfing the other day. It is a link to an online version of Galaga . But [in best Vincent Vega voice] I'm not talking about no crappy, reprogrammed java version, I'm talking about the real Galaga. The sound is a little screwy, and the overall screen size is small, but in every other way it's the real deal (an online MAME decoder I'm guessing).
Instructions:
4 & 5 = insert coin
1 = 1 player
2 = 2 player
arrow keys = move l & r
ctrl = fire
and that's all you need to know. :)
BTW the actual site is http://retro.azurhost.com/retro/cottage/galaga.htm just in case I stuffed up the HTML link.

- Graduation... in a sense -- Sam 3, 11:32:13 11/13/03 Thu
Hello people :)
This here is my first ever post on this board as a (finally) graduated undergrad. That's correct, I have now finished my Chemical Engineering degree and am now quasi-technically free!! - at least until I do post-grad :
I felt the need to share, and be showered with compliments - the showering is optional ;)
I should be down in Canberra over the Christmas period for at least a couple of days so I should be able to catch up with everyone again for the obligatory once a year catch up - soon to be more than once a year as I will hopefully have more time on my hands :)
I hope to catch up with you guys soon :)
Have fun, play safe :)

Hello one and all long time no see, or hear or speak really. I have once again been busy with theatre and the like.
For those interested in theatre George Huitkers new play/Dance piece is opening next week. Welcome to the Machine. It is a piece that once again seeks to kick you out of you comfort zone and get you to remember that you are not alone unless you want to be. It has a funky junk yard set with cool lights and sound done one again by the loverly Matty H.
So, hope to see you there as we need the audience and this is the last piece for some of the cast as they head away to diffrent parts of the country to continue studying.
Also we got shafted by Arts ACT this year so we need the money for next year.
thats all I have to say except see yas later

- Guess who's coming to dinner -- David H, 19:48:21 10/22/03 Wed
People of Canberra, would you please be upstanding, with hands on hearts and brains at half-mast, for the playing of the national anthem.
Oh say can you see
F-18s in the sky
And the traffic gridlock
Between Woden and Belco
Want to get into town?
You've got Buckley's of that
May as well sit at home
'Cos you might just be safer
And the MIBs' glare
Barricades everywhere
Gave proof to the mob
That the man was now there
Oh say why do we have to
Stay out of his way?
When he's made the people free
To be very afraid

- Some Sad News -- Morpheus, 12:30:32 10/22/03 Wed
Just to ensure that everyone that matters to us is aware, November and I
have decided to go our separate ways. We're letting people know not for the
sympathy factor (although feel free to lavish condolences and/or money on
us) but mostly to help avoid others making embarrassing mistakes or
comments. Not that it would bother us, but you never really want to put
your foot in it.
We're both cool, there are no flying plates or shouting matches, indeed
we're still sharing the same house in Pearce until other arrangements are
made (albeit different rooms) and are on fine speaking terms (which should
be a relief to everyone that didn't want to pretend that one of us no
longer existed).
We're not sure exactly what the immediate future holds (I in particular am
in limbo until the end of this month when I find out whether my Housing
contract will be extended), but I'm sure you guys will find out once we
start making decisions.
In the meantime, if anybody hears of a really cheap place that will take
pets and is in a TransACT broadband area let us know. :)

- Hallowe'en 2003 -- Morpheus, 14:12:56 10/08/03 Wed
Bad news.....through a lot of soul searching and deep discussions, November and I have decided that we are just too stressed and tired to host the much anticipated Hallowe'en party this year. We will endeavour to get at least one fancy dress party in before Christmas, but it's just not going to be at the end of this month.
Sorry if this is crushing news for anybody. With any luck, next year's will go off like the proverbial footwear attired amphibian.

That's all on tonight's episode of BBC Wales' hit drama Return to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll-llantysiliogogogoch.

And mine too, obviously...
Some of you - hopefully most of you - would have heard rumblings of a party to be held at the Second Hill House on this saturday (the 20th of september).
While this party is still to occur, we have changed the date to the 27th of september (this saturday week) to allow those that couldn't mkae it on the 20th to make it and to to put the party in a pay week (thus ensuring the affordage of more booze and food).
The purpose of this party is to see all those people of whom we don't see much, and would like to see more. I will attempt a mass-SMS at some point, but otherwise I hope to see you all at our place, at around 7pm, on the 27th of September.
Catchye,

I almost got stuck with Yoda. Then there was Elfy. Even Gaultuis Maximus. But No! Its the furthest thing for Barry! Harry! wouldn't have seen it coming.
Anyhoo. Just thought that a quick update would be kinda nice. I'm off to Williamtown to work on the recently aquired British Aerospace BA-127 Hawk fighter trainer. Newly appointed rank, of boot sole(LAC for all those military types), rather than the yucky stuff that sticks to it. So just a warning, if your think that flying RAAF air was safe, you might want to consider life insurance. So in about Three weeks I'm off again to another place. Further away as fate would have it.
Which brings me to my next point of business. Euan, I would so love to come down to paintball but i start work on the 07oct03 so i probably wont be able to make it till the jet pipe end of october. But if its later give me a Hoi and i could muster a few more cam clad brutes..
Be well alll!!!!!

- And you thought the ABC replaying all of Dr Who was impressive... -- Denis, 18:48:07 08/25/03 Mon
From BBC news:
Dyke to open up BBC archive
Greg Dyke, director general of the BBC, has announced plans to give the public full access to all the corporation's programme archives.
Mr Dyke said on Sunday that everyone would in future be able to download BBC radio and TV programmes from the internet.
The service, the BBC Creative Archive, would be free and available to everyone, as long as they were not intending to use the material for commercial purposes, Mr Dyke added.
"The BBC probably has the best television library in the world," said Mr Dyke, who was speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival.
"Up until now this huge resource has remained locked up, inaccessible to the public because there hasn't been an effective mechanism for distribution.
"But the digital revolution and broadband are changing all that.
"For the first time there is an easy and affordable way of making this treasure trove of BBC content available to all."
He predicted that everyone would benefit from the online archive, from people accessing the internet at home, children and adults using public libraries, to students at school and university.
No word on exactly when it'll happen or what form it'll take in the end, but still, that's one hell of an awesome resource to have available free to everyone...

- Any St George customers out there...? -- Denis, 09:16:45 08/21/03 Thu
Just thought I'd let people know that I just got an email pretending to be from St George asking me to click on the link to their website and enter all my details as a part of some vague and ill-defined "security update". The link in the email pops up an authentic-looking window with a form for you to fill out your credit card details and so on, which when you click the button to submit your details sends all the info to god knows who, when then spend all your money. There's been a whole bunch of these floating around the internet recently, targeting places like Citibank and PayPal, so St George is just the latest in a long list...
Not that I think anyone reading this would be stupid enough to fall for it, but I just thought people might like to know it's out there, and maybe let anyone else they know with a St George account to be on the lookout for it. (More details about these types of scams can be found in usual place, under the "What's New" section...)
(And why the bloody hell they sent it to me when I don't have any accounts with St George remains a mystery...)

- Salaam everyone -- Sam IV, 04:59:43 07/08/03 Tue
Azerbaijan is where I am now and it’s a good place to be.
-If you have money that is, the alternative doesn’t really bear thinking about.
After spending almost a year in Scotland it’s good to finally be in a hot and sunny place. I’m staying in my Dad’s apartment, which is about two blocks up from the Caspian Sea, and about two blocks down of the Lenin Museum. However it’s now full of carpets so I don’t know what he’d think of that.
I’ve gone down to have a look at the Caspian and there is no need for a sign saying ‘no swimming.’ Given the amount of oil lying around on the surface, perhaps ‘no smoking’ is more appropriate.
But it’s great just to wander around as long as you avoid traffic. They actively speed at you should you go in front of them and substitute the brake for the horn. The whole effect is like some great river of Russian Ladas and the odd Merc heading upstream to spawn.
I just spent the weekend in the mountains, a town called Sheki. Absolutely relaxed and a gorgeous place to be as far as mountain retreats go. I spent the weekend eating way too much and exploring the local area. Our translator was good enough to show me a few of the better placed cafes and taught me how to play dominoes. I won but I think that’s cause my dad was paying his wages for the next few days. The cafe culture is very big here. There are teahouses that sit above the town so you can enjoy a light sip and watch the entire valley. I also learnt that Azeris don’t put sugar cubes in their tea, they have a different method. You simply put the cube in your mouth and let it dissolve as you drink the tea.
Did I mention a lot of people here have gold teeth?
Sheki is a great place to relax. Even the rooster only crows at about 9.30/10.00, 10.30 if it’s a really nice morning. The food was fabulous and there were kittens always running around the outside dining areas.
It’s a friendly place full of anachronisms and unfortunate poverty. It is one of the most corrupt countries in the world and official government statistics put the unemployment at about 1%. That makes it the most economically strong place in the world and this has left many people sceptical about the reliability of local sources.
I’ve bought some Oakleys that might even be genuine and possibly had my laundry stolen.
I lost my signed Proclaimers poster I stole from HMV at Istanbul Airport and cruised the streets of Sheki in my maybe Oakleys and a local’s Mercedes.
I’ve just celebrated my 24th birthday at a local outdoor restaurant and bar in Baku and I marvel at the way I never thought I’d be there for my 24th. Where to go for my 25th?
I’m thinking Korea...
So far the funniest thing I’ve noticed is that the popular local brand of washing powder is called BARF™. I think it’s great for colour but not really for whites.
Being in a former Soviet country is really an experience. The neighbourhood is full of government buildings and old mansions that belonged to Russian oil barons in the early 1900’s. One of the local mansions is said to have housed one oil baron who was overrun by the Bolsheviks. Two men on horseback rode up the stairs, smashing everything in their path. The owner of the house watched them coming up and shot them both dead, as they had no room to manoeuvre. He then looked out and realised just how bad his situation was before turning the gun on himself to be spared their justice or a mob.
This is a curious country as far as Islam goes. They heavily frown on men in shorts but the women can wear whatever they like. This includes skimpy tops and pants they put on with a spray gun. Then the abstinence from alcohol seems to be non-existent as they drink so much vodka they practically sprinkle it on their cornflakes.
What can I say? It’s great!
Are X-Men 2 and the Matrix reloaded out on DVD yet? They certainly are here, as well as the ‘impossible to pirate’ Windows XP and every other form of software imaginable.
Over the next few days I’m going to continue wandering through the markets and seeing what I can pick up. The main items are Soviet era medals and badges as well as general bric-a-brac. One man showed me curious, silver, rectangular object yesterday. You press one part and hey presto! A cigarette lighter! Then you press another button and suddenly you have at least a two-inch flick knife with an assortment of spikes running down the backside of the blade.
I gotta admit... I was tempted...
I haven’t got a plan for Baku but you don’t really need one. I’ll just see what happens and on Wednesday I’m going scavenging at a local Soviet tank graveyard.
Well I’m really missing everyone and I hope I’ll be home by Christmas. However things on the home front are changing so I may not have a house when I get back. If that happens I’m thinking of moving the Spain for the winter months. I’ll be in Italy in September so it’s really not that far to go.
Later people,
Sam.
PS The local beer is pretty good but very sweet, takes some getting used to. Given it’s my birthday I tried my best. :-)

I'm not really sure what to say, or indeed if anything more needs to be said. I didn't know him past seeing his name on the credits, and also the Jefferies Tubes reference, but this story definitely got my attention when I first saw it reported by BBC News. My first thoughts were that there's another piece that's been added to the legend.
