The Good, the Bad and The Ugly #44

THE GOOD

The Motorola v8088 - We want one. We know it's wrong but we crave new technology like it was caffeine the morning after a big night out.

Tiger Woods - Not just "good" but more like a "freak of nature".

'Best Laid Plans' - Clever, insightful, visually stunning and coming to you from slightly just off the right hand side of the planet.

Alfresco's Gelati - We've said it before and we just had to mention it again. You see being back in the burg the withdrawals have started and they are beginning to hurt so if you see us shaking on a street corner now you will know why.

Peter Norman - A gentleman and a true legend of Australian sporting history and yet most people wouldn't know his name.

Muppets Tonight - 1:30, Saturdays on Prime. Set the VCR then cheer as some new and old faces continue the Jim Henson tradition.

Café del Mar vol 7. - The party capital of the world is said to be the small island of Ibiza and the hottest place on Ibiza is most certainly Café del Mar. Each year the guys and gals of this place to be compile a CD with the tracks played by the guest DJ's during the year. Out this week is volume 7 and we here think it's the best yet.

Quiz Night at Filthy's on the 27th - The big bash brought to you by the Three Bald Bastards for the last time ever.

THE BAD

Seeing Catriona Rowntree on TV - Because it means she isn't in my lounge room sharing a bottle of wine in front of the fire with me.

Free Promo CD's from Burger King - Hopping onto the Net bandwagon this week was Burger King UK
who gave away free CD-ROMs to children as part of an instore promotion. However the excrement hit the cooling equipment after it was discovered that the CD's included thousands of links to porn sites. All remaining stock was instantly recalled however it took a few days to get the message out and by this point nearly a million of the discs were out in circulation. We are greatly disappointed in Burger King as a family orientated institution they should know better, they should also have sent us one as well.

The School of Hard Knocks - When little Aaron's teacher told him that if he didn't hand up his next assignment that the class would each be able to take a swing at him, like most people he thought the teacher was kidding. If that was the case then what would be the point of the story then? So when Aaron didn't hand up the assignment the teacher lined up the entire class in front of Aaron and told them each to take a swing in turn. The result was a few bruises for Aaron and a suspension for the Teacher. So where is the school of hard knocks? New Jersey of course.

Iron Mike and The Fight - A punch to the head, a punch to the ref and that was all Mike did to be granted a win sixty seconds into a massively hyped but completely unimportant fight in Glasgow this week. Just when it couldn't get any worse for Boxing Mike took it upon himself to orate to the audience as to how good he is and what he plans to do to everyone on the planet including the classic line 'I will eat your children, praise to Allah'. Thanks Mike, that's real nice of you.

Quiz Night at Filthy's on the 27th -- Because Jared is gonna sing.

THE UGLY

Teletubbies until 2008 - ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Damn American TV stations, damn them to hell.

Hansie shedding a tear - Nope nothing to say except it's just still as ugly as it was the first time we saw it.

Brooke vs Kate - The claws came out on Saturday nights Good News Week as two of Oz's beautiful people went at it in a verbal sparing match. We give the victory to Brooke for being calm and graceful while under fire but also 'cos we think she is much cuter too.

The Goods & Services Tax - Just in case you had been living under a rock on Mars for the last year you may not know about the Goods and Services Tax about to be imposed on the people of Australia in less than a week's time. From next week the services provided to you will have a 10% tax on them that will go to the government's big fat pockets. Since GBU is a service it will be subject to a GST, however we at GBU HQ have decided to fuck the government royally and not charge our loyal patrons the extra cost. That's how much we care about you all.

Quiz Night at Filthy's on the 27th - Come on….It's the last ever……You know it's gonna get ugly at some point.
