Clay couldn't suppress the chuckle at her name calling. "Most guys are pigs darlin'" He retorted in good humor. He retrieved his glass, now that it was apparent Jess wouldn't be taking a shot at him any time tonight, and took a sip. He raised his brows in concern as she muttered about her bandaging, and needing to get home. "C'mon then Gimpy, i'll take ya back." He stepped forward, the soda forgotten on the table once again, to offer her a hand up. "Ya all right to walk, or do i need to get a stretcher in here?" He was studiously attempting to ignore the remark about james and Less. Though he thought it touching they appeared as siblings, instead of cousins. They'd always been much closer than Mel or Logan had been.

Lessa found James' lack of horse knowledge oddly endearing. God only knew why, she usually couldn't be bothered with folks like him, unless they were paying her to teach them what she knew. "It'll be our little secret." She smirked and glanced up, searching for the waitress. She was across the room, carrying glasses back to a table, so Lessa turned her attention back to James. "Jep is my baby.. He was my first eventer, though he's retired from the show ring now.. and used primarily as a lesson horse."
