Jess glared at him as he called her gimpy, both irritated and amused with him. How could she be truly upset with the only human in ten years to know what she was and not immediately start calling for a witch hunt? "Don't get me started, Elmer Fudd... You owe me a pint, and don't think I wont take it from your trigger happy ass if you keep it up" But she smirked slightly, capping her water bottle and holding it to her belly. She had to be careful how she got up, or she'd make herself bleed again.
As he offered her his hand, she placed her free hand in his, closing her fingers lightly around his palm. He wasn't a very large man, at least not from what she could see, but her hand looked so petite and feminine laying across his larger hand. Her fingers looked long and soft, like she was some movie star... Her gaze lingered on their hands, slowly she used his strength to pull herself up. She took a moment to steady herself, then slipped her hand carefully from his. The contact was sending hot waves through her body, making her want more... It wasn't a safe feeling.
"I can get the jeep... If you want"
James smirked and nodded "He's pretty mellow then? Being a lesson horse, it takes a balanced horse to do that, doesn't it?" He took a sip of his beer, wondering if this was the horse who wouldn't mind him. He had been calm enough with James only five feet away. If this horse allowed him to bond with it, allowed him to learn to ride... Maybe he could learn how to put other horses at ease around him, be able to do the things Lessa liked along side her... "I told you how horses don't really like me, didn't I?... I've never met a horse who will stand within twenty feet of me... It's rather embarrassing" He fiddled with his beer bottle, hoping she wouldn't make fun of him. Maybe between her and her spotty horse, he could finally learn how the prey animals thought
i move on like a sinners prayer i let 'em go like a levee breaks walk away as if i don't care learn to shoulder my mistakes getting reckless when there's no need break my heart but it won't bleed i'm better as a memory than as your man
