The massive canine padded silently along the sidewalk, avoiding humans where he could and ignoring them where he couldn't. He had no interest in being pet or checked for a collar by those few who where either brave or stupid enough to try and touch him. He liked this form for the personal space it won him. Not so scary as to truly frighten people, like a mastiff or pitbull would, but large and strong enough to keep people from running over to save the poor lost labrador... If he was out roaming the city, he didn't need the distraction of caring people.

Seeing a large group of people blocking his path ahead, he veered into the alley, planning on simply going around them. He scented the alley as he moved, checking for dangers that might be lurking in the shadows. Findling none, he strode confidently through the back alley, soon finding himself at the edge of the parkinglot for the club. He stopped to scan the lot, looking for people. The last thing he needed was to get run over by some drunk. To cover his stop, he lifted his leg on the tire of a nearby truck.

He kicked some gravel out behind him in a canine fashion, knowing not doping it might bring more attention than doing it. Humans expected to see dogs do certain things, and if they don't do them... well humans start getting suspicious. He started through the parkinglot when a car door opened behind him and he heard boots hit the gravel before the door slammed shut. "You stupid mutt! Look what you did to my tire!" James spun, to find a man glaring at him from the beside the truck he'd just marked. Well wasn't that just his luck!

Standing his ground, he watched the man, unwilling to turn his back on him. The man pulled back a booted foot and kicked a pile of gravel at him. Most of the stones missed his hide, and the few that hit only bounced off his thick coat, but the threat was there and he knew he might actually be in trouble now. Ears layed back slightly, showing his irritation as he glared at the man, hopping a show of aggression might change the humans mind. A slight growl left his chest, bouncing around the parkinglot.

The human reached into the bed of his truck, pulling a heavy looking piece of pipe. Aww Fuck! James Dropped his head, pinning his ears pinned tight against his skull. Thick lips pulled back to reveal massive teeth as he snarled at the man. This wasn't working! He needed to go heavy on the defense if he wanted to get out of this without major injury. He began to bark, snarl and lunge back and forth. If the human couldn't take this final warning for what it was than he would have to protect himself.

Sure enough the man started towards him, readying his weapon for the attack. Though he wanted nothing more than to step back, away from this pointless danger, he knew that would only bolster the mans confidence, make him think he could get away with this again, with some dog who didn't know what was going on...

i move on like a sinners prayer
i let 'em go like a levee breaks
walk away as if i don't care
learn to shoulder my mistakes
getting reckless when there's no need
break my heart but it won't bleed
i'm better as a memory than as your man
