When the barkeep approached, Lessa didn’t smile, though she didn’t frown either. Her eyes seemed to be sizing him up, though not as if she were aware of it. It was habit for her now, after years of sizing up competition in the arena, and sizing up potential students, parents of students, possible buyers… you name it, and Lessa has sized them up. She took note of his physical appearance, his height, his build, the fact that he was built; an she categorized the facts instinctively. “Corona.” Her voice was smooth & low. She never raised it unless she needed to be heard from the middle of the arena, over the rhythmic beat of hooves on sand and recycled tires, or if her temper got the best of her. She fished a twenty out of her pocket and laid it on the bar as he went to retrieve her order, her gaze scanning the high prized liquor on the top shelf. It had been a while since she’d had any of the good stuff… though with a valid reason. Dismissing the thought, the tickle at the base of her skull as she swiveled on the stool, and watched the other patrons. Hopefully tonight would prove beneficial for her business.. Hopefully she’d find someone who needed a place to board, or had a kid wanting lessons. An idea struck, and when the barkeep returned with her corona, she turned to him, her fingers claiming the neck of the bottle as she pulled it toward her across the bar. “Hey, you wouldn’t know of any equestrian’s in this town, would you?” She took a pull on the bottle, licking her upper lip as she settled the corona back on the countertop as she waited for his answer.
