James 2

James nodded and turned to fish a corona out of the icebox behind him, he popped the cap and set the bottle in front of her. He snagged the twenty and set down a ten and a five. He scanned up and down the bar checking the other patrons for an empty glass. However just before the woman had come in he'd refreshed most everyone, so he couldn't find anything better to do than loiter in front of this woman and clean dirty glasses.

His gaze was lingering on the dance floor, letting the movement settle his mind. He was used to bar tending, but he wasn't used to so many people. So he almost missed the woman's question. Did he know anyone? Not really, and certainly no one specific like she was asking for... "No, sorry... I'm a little new in town. I know there are horse people in town though..." He could smell them when they sat at the bar... Though she hadn't smelled strongly enough of horse to make him think she owned a horse. Maybe this whole town just smelled of horse

i move on like a sinners prayer
i let 'em go like a levee breaks
walk away as if i don't care
learn to shoulder my mistakes
getting reckless when there's no need
break my heart but it won't bleed
i'm better as a memory than as your man
