(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The Boston Fire Department contract can not more forward without the approval of the Boston City Council.

Will they approve the arbitrated contract?

VB sat down with Boston City Council President Michael Ross. Watch VB’s interview to see what Ross had to say about the contract.

A labor arbitrator handed down the decision that would include a 19 percent raise over the next four years for Boston Firefighters. The Firefighters union also agreed to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

Mayor Thomas M. Menino says this award will cost taxpayers an additional estimated $74 million.
