I remember when I first heard about Paul's condition, I was at the Anthrax/Priest gig in St. Pete FL @ Jannus Landing,. Scott got on the mic and told us all that Paul had died.Little did I know that Paul wasnt axtually dead yet, and that they were going to pull the plug at midnight just a little while after the show ended, but it still made it impossible to enjoy the rest of the show. This fucking sucks. It was one of those moments that you try to block out, but it's just fucking impossible. I remember about 4 years ago, buying Bonded By Blood because I knew Kirk Hammett used to be in Exodus, and it just grabbed me by the balls and never let go, and it has a firm grip on my sac till this very day.Just fucking brutal.I remember when I heard news of Thrash of The Titans, I planned to raise enough money to skip school, and drive all the way from FL to CA to see the show, and seeing Exodus w/ Paul was THE main reason I wanted to go.I didnt make it. I only had a learner's permit, and I ran out of gas and money by the time I got to Texas, and was forced to call my parents and tell them what happened.Paul seemed like a fucking maniac on stage. I have a few bootlegs, and if you have ANOTHER LESSON IN VIOLENCE ,you can just tell the man is intense onstage just by the way he sounds.i caught wind of a possible tour called the Bay Area Invasion, and I thought to myself "This is it! your Gonna see Exodus!!'"...Well, I guess I'll be seeing Exodus minus a very important part.If there was anyone more metal than Paul, I dont know about it.Well, I'm 17 years old right now,and I always thought that when I formed a band, I'd get real well known in the metal scene, and that I'd be able to meet all my heroes and tell them how much they influenced be. Well, not ALL my heroes.Nothing any of us can do will ever bring him back, but we can still support the scene that he helped to create.I'll continue to support metal as i'm doing now, and as I've been doing since I was 11.Just keep pressing on, and dont ever let metal die, and never forget those who have fallen. Not sure what else to say really, it's been a few weeks since he's died and I'm still rattled by it.Lets make Paul proud.
"Bang your head as if up from the dead, cuz metal is all that you need"
