sry Shay, kinda continuing for you... i'm really bored right now
*Shayla shakes her head sadly. "No, theres nothing left for us to do here. Go ahead and help Saddle, Aaron, Kaylee and i have everything under control here". Saddle, Susan and Dana head back to FOH. Travis runs out to greet them. "Legacy is coughing and her nose is running, i brought her up to the barn" Travis calls. "Oh no, it might spread through all the horses" Saddle moans. They walk into the barn and the sound of coughing horses surrounds them. Legacy is in the first stall, curled up tightly. Kelsey is sitting with her bay filly. "She started showing symptoms about 15 minutes ago, then her hind end just gave out" Kelsey tells them. "Looks like its EHV-1, it can cause paralysis due to spinal cord swelling" Dana tells them. "I can give her a shot to help reduce the swelling, but it would slow her immune system" Dana explains. "So the shot would help give her muscle control, but hurt her immune system?" Kelsey asks. "Yeah, its a risky shot" Dana tells them. "Its not as bad here as it is at Shay's" Susan tells them. "They already lost July, Taifun, Cinderella and a few others". "Is there anything you can do to help them?" Travis asks, walking out of Lily's stall. "Theres not much we can do for them, stall rest and try to keep them eating and drinking. I can put them on antibiotics, but it doesnt help much. Let me look them over and see how they're doing" Dana tells them. She looks at all the quarintined horses. Many of them were showing signs of severe respitory problems, and also had neurological symptoms. "This is a disaster, so many of them so sick so quickly" Saddle says softly. "Are all the healthy horses isolated?" Dana asks. "Yeah, they're down in the far paddocks, theres not much else we can do to protect them." Saddle replies. "I know they're all been vaccinated, i did that myself, but let me give them their vaccinations again. Moving them wouldnt be practical, they have all been exposed to the virus and its just a matter of which ones get sick and which ones stay healthy" Dana tells them. They go up to the house and Saddle lends them clean clothes to put on to take care of the healthy horses. Saddle brings out several bales of hay and Kelsey and Travis bring them their grain. They put the horses in separate paddocks. "Good thing we put up run in sheds over the summer" Saddle says. The paddocks hadn't been used in months and were safe for the healthy horses, and there was still some grass left over from the summer. Dana gives the healthy horses another vaccination to help prevent them from getting sick. Then they go back to the barn. "Basically, if it doesnt kill them or completely paralyze them in 3-5 days, they have a pretty good chance of recovering. Lets get started cleaning out the barns and burning everything the infected horses have had contact with" Dana tells them.....
