I agree that Mulder was in love with Scully. It was all there in the beginning. Amazingly I don't like watching this show much. I didn't like that her father died. I didn't like the Christmas thing at the start. The tension between them. Scully was a bit of a baby in the presence of her father. I didn't go much on that either. I hated Boggs. He was creepy. I also still can't understand what happened to Scully's voice. It is so high and sweet in these early eps. Very rarely do we hear that high [weakish] voice in later eps. Even from S3 onwards. She really did grow up, incl. Gilly. Imagine if Scully was giving evidence for Mulder in a court case in S1 or 2. She would have that high voice. IN the finale she spoke softly but still much lower. I know we have had this conversation before and people have given their ideas eg maturing of Gilly from 24 to 34, Scully being hardened by her ordeals, Gilly getting right into the character at last. She did have that uncertainty about her in early eps. Gilly being more confident in the character and herself etc. I like to watch later eps and try and seek out that highg voice Sometimes you hear a similar one. But I don't think you do in later eps. In the finale when she was on the bed, her voice was lower and a bit husky but probably the closest to her original voice than it has been for 6 yrs. There was a hint of the high voice but not really in comparison to the motel scene in the Pilot. What I really like about these early eps was the conpsiracy thing happening. BTS was about Scully and Mulder and I was not as interested in them as characters in this early time. Even now i prefer to see the develpment of the mythology when I watch the early eps. I think CC was really brilliant and the early eps really allow me to marvel at this brilliance. So BTS isn't one of my favourites.
