You're right det. That Scully speech could be a set up for them at the end of the finale saying "well, we tried to find the truth and that was important in and of itself and we have each other so lets go jump in the sack" or words to this effect. Maybe Rabid has called it with Mulder on trial, they'll do a "Mulder was wrong all these years" twist/double fake out. Fingers crossed for a slam-bang ender.
