It's good to see you posting again and you can rant all you want. lol
I read this before but wasn't sure how to reply.
I can't say I agree with you that the XF are going for self mockery. Despite what other say I do think they are trying to make a good quality show and as SMH was saying, Robert Patrick is trying his darndest.
He's in such a tough position. Despite that he's not the same character as Mulder, blah blah blah, he is still in a big way, taking on the role of filling Mulder's/DDs shoes.
But they have parodied themselves several times before (Jose Ching).

One thing I have trouble with on these eps is I just don't always find Monica's explanations convincing. Maybe if Mulder had put forth this theory I'd be more inclined to believe. I'm sure he'd hae a diffrent approach to it. And with his way of talking he could convince a snail that it could run as fast as Michael Johnson!
