episodes you mention are favorites of mine but only because they are different from the rest of the episodes. Sometimes I found that the MOW ones were just too icky and these light-hearted ones provided a nice balance. Rain King is another one I enjoyed and it also seems to fit into this category. I am sure there are others.

Of course my reason for watching XFiles was not for the stand alone humor episodes. I watched it for the intrigue, spy, who dunnit, alien science fiction aspect.
