Subject: The Easter Episode

Recently my online time has increased exponentially, so I figure I'll be the first one to write comments on tonight's episode. What was the title?

First off: Doggett looked fine in this episode. First in his NYPD uniform, in his cute little hat! Then in the pinstriped suit. Then at the end in his disheveled blue dress shirt.

Tonight I realized that I'm really going to miss Doggett. I've already gone through my mourning period for Mulder, and Scully has been so disengaged this season that it's almost as though she is already gone. Monica has no affect on me. But Robert Patrick has poured his heart and soul into this season, and I am REALLY going to miss Doggett! I think that tonight was one of his best episodes, though I know I said that after Audrey Pauley as well. RP is just such a good actor and JD is just such a good man! *sigh*

In the teaser, before we knew that it was 1989, I was so confused by the Milli Vanilli line. Not because it seemed weird that someone would like Milli Vanilli in the year 2002 (I know I still have their CD), but the fact that the teenaged girl asked which one she'd want to marry, Rob or Fab, when Rob died of a drug overdose in the mid 1990s. I know all about it, seeing as how I saw the Behind The Music: Milli Vanilli.

Anyhow, back to Doggett. Let me go on about him for a moment. There were a few particular moments that just made me want to give him a big hug, or marry him, or set my mom up with him (just cause he'd be the best dad). When he and Scully go to New York and they are in that office looking at all the files, you could just see on his face the confusion because he knew he had done everything he could. And when Scully mentioned that arresting what's his name must have helped his career, he acknowledged it, but it was obvious the more important thing was that he put people's minds at ease by catching him. HE IS JUST SUCH A GOOD GUY!

Another scene where I absolute loved Doggett (but hated the scene) was where Doggett confronted Duke for planting evidence. Poor Doggett's world is getting turned upside down! It was clear Duke was his mentor and he couldn't even comprehend how or why this man he looks up to could do such a thing. Somehow the writers and Doggett were able to reiterate what a stand up guy Doggett is without me feeling like it was shoved down my throat or thinking it unrealistic. I was practically choked up when he said "You break my heart."

I'm going on and on about Doggett, but he really was the best part of this episode. I also enjoyed seeing Scully do some real work for a change. Even in episodes where she has had a big role, she hasn't done too much of the leg work. I also really enjoyed the way she interacted with Doggett. I love Scully.

Does anyone think it would be kind of neat for Reyes to die before the end of the season? I've actually grown to like her a little bit, but I'm not attached. When she got hit over the head I was like "maybe she's dead!" It would just add some excitement, you know? But then we'd have to watch Doggett mourn since he's so so in love with her.

Next week's episode looks immensely entertaining. Scully, Reyes, and Burt Reynolds!! Woo Hoo!

As an aside, they have these commercials up here for Canada with all of these people singing some Shania Twain song. I saw it EVERY single commercial break, and as a result am considering vacationing in Canada. God Bless those Canadians.
