 Finally found someone (other than old school friend) that was on the same cruise! I went to Glenmoor School for Girls (for my sins)in Bournemouth. I look back on that cruise with amazing memories and probably being the best part of my school life! We lived on Mars Bars and Polo's because the food was sooo bad. Spent most of our time in the common room and chatting with the boys. I remember being told when we arrived in Cairo NOT to get on the camels because they would demand money. I also remember feeling miserable on our last day in Venice because we didn't want to go home. Unfortunately the weather in Venice didn't help as it was cold and misty. I still have an album full of pictures although they do look a bit faded now :)! If you are on Facebook there is a Facebook group called The SS Uganda - School Cruises 1968 - 1982 if you are interested. It has quite a few members now and lots of pictures that have been uploaded. It was an amazing experience and something I will remember for the rest of my life!
