Subject: 1978 Author: Rob T [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 08:59:14 02/13/16 Sat Hi all I was on the Uganda in 1978 I think - I was 13 Flew on a dc10 laker airways to Naples - went to Pompeii Was meat to sail to Egypt but in force 11 gales so had to divert but we got to Israel - went to Jerusalem - which I remember so well, Bethlehem, Dead Sea and had a swim and to an orange grove where we all stuffed ourselves The to Cyprus where we visited the Roman stir at pathos Then we wen to Kotor --- went up to a giant amphitheater over looking the bay and looking down on Uganda - the most exciting thing was having to get to the shore by tender Then to Venice st marks square glass blowing factory I was in Stanhope Food was dreadful - cabins sparse - and loud music every morning - but often think about poor old Uganda Had my first encounter with an older guy (he was 15) which set my path for future years ..... I wonder what happened to him and if he lived the gay life too?
