 I did six trips on "Uganda" from London to Durban.South Africa
as second chef,in 1965/1966.As part of my learning experience
to become a lecturer in a F/E College here in Scotland.This I
did until taking voluntary retirement 29years later.It was sad
that she could not be saved, and even sadder to see the state
she was in when she took her final journey to the breakers
yard.But she did not give in easily.A nautical student told me
about the typhoon in Malaysia and how he had seen her lying on
her side on the shore. Hard work,but happy times.
