I went with a group from king Edward vI school, bury st Edmunds. We flew from gatwick on a freddy laker sky train, when they still allowed smoking on planes !
We travelled to Malta, and picked up the ship at Valletta harbour, we travelled on to Volos in Greece, travelled through the Bosporus straits on to Istanbul, which was an amazing place , we travelled to bulgaria, and Romania stopping at sunny beach. On to turkey to a really amazing place where we were greeted by a group of dancers from a local school and they showed us around their town, visiting the mosque. We then went to Athens, and walked around the pantheon. Then we flew home.
The ship was amazing,a disco, a cinema, a canteen which was hardly luxurious. The metal bunks in the dorm, the lessons when we learnt about the next country we were going to visit, the swimming pool, the deck games, the dolphins swimming along side the ship. All great memories that I will never forget.
