My school in Kenilworth was due to go on the Uganda, but that cruise was overbooked, so we went on the NEVASA instead with schools from Barnet, Brent and Harrow. I think it was in November 1969 or 1970, but I forget so much these days (brain failing, obviously) and I don't know the whereabouts of anyone else in the entire universe to ask who was on that cruise with me at the same time. I know it happened, and I recall loving the experience, other kids, and places. Also I have an appalling photo of myself at the Parthenon in school uniform to prove that I was there, but I would love to hear from anyone who was on that cruise at the same time. The sound of Nana Mouskouri belting out of the tannoy at 6.a.m. when we were docking at Piraeus or Kos has ever since given me a lifelong hatred of early mornings, and I am still prone to seasickness whenever crossing the Bay of Biscay, but really my memories of the whole thing are very precious. And I can shout at the TV the answers to various trivia questions on quiz shows as a consequence of that cruise. Please contact me!
