In reply to: Philip T. Dooley 's message, "Cecil N. Bean - Who Sailed JW 62/RA63 & JW66/RA67" on 10:38:30 01/27/08 Sun

Just thought I'd check again if anyone recognizes the company, ship or convoys that my father was part of at Sampson:

My Dad's name is Philip R. Dooley: USNTC Sampson NY. Company 131 - July 18 1944

Sailed in North Atlantic/Russian Convoys on the Cecil N. Bean. Convoys JW 62 November - December 1944. Loch Ewe to Kola Inley and RA 63 January 1945 - Kola Inlet to Lock Ewe.

Again Sailed Russian Convoys - JW 66 April 1945 Clyde to Kola Inlet - RA 67 May of 1945 Kola Inlet to Clyde. This was one of the last convoys of the War.

These convoys deliverd explosives and building materials to Archangel and Murmansk.

Have some photos and some other information to share. Thanks.
