Then essentially you are saying that Loyola will never be able to get good. If that's the case, maybe we should leave the MAAC right now.

Loyola will not admit PROP 48s, and our academic standards for athletes are higher than most of the MAAC (at every other MAAC school, Jason Rowe is never dismissed from the team, and Blanchard Hurd never gets redshirted to begin with, along with numerous other players). But that should also be a selling strength: at loyola, you get an education that you get a job with after school. You'd think people would be able to sell that, in addition to the fact that you get IMMEDIATE playing time. And if you are very good, you can easily be the best player in Loyola history - or come close to it - I'd think those things could attract some halfway decent players.
