Subject: REIMOLD UPDATE
In reply to: Sam Spiegel 91' 's message, "How is Reimold doing?" on 21:10:47 01/02/03 Thu

Reimold was just selected MAC West Player of the Week. Here is the short paragraph on the reason why:

Reimold was named BG's John McClendon Outstanding Player Award winner for his 24-point effort in leading the Falcons to an 80-72 comeback win over Cleveland State in the Rock 'N Roll Shootout Saturday at Gund Arena. Reimold set a Shootout standard by making all 11 free throw at-tempts and added 5 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. With BG trailing 26-16, Reimold scored 7 of the Falcons' next 10 points to tie the game with 2:38 left in the half. BG trailed by 5 at the half before Reimold scored 7 of the Falcons' first 9 points to give BG a 39-35 lead, an advantage it would never relinquish.

His stats for the year are:
He is the second-leading scorer for his team at 14.6 ppg, shooting a robust 47% from the field (including 44% in three point land and 90% in free throws). He is also grabbing 4.4 rpg.

Now, those would be meaningless without seeing what Bowling Green has down this year.

They play in the Mid American Conference, the 10th rated conference on Sagarin, and are the 9th ranked team in that conference (13 total teams). Their record is 5-4, including:

L @ Detroit
W vs. Tiffin
W vs. Buffalo
L @ Northwestern
L @ Michigan
L @ #4 Alabama (72-63 - Reimold with 13 points and 8 boards)
W vs. Oakland
W vs. Urbana
W @ Cleveland State

There you go.

He would have been the POY in the MAAC, no doubt in my opinion, for up to three years.

-Anthony
