Subject: Sure mercies of David
In reply to: Laura 's message, "Welcome!" on 01:31:56 02/17/02 Sun

Well, I admit my studies are still pretty superficial, I am just not 'deep' I guess....according to the Bible Dictionary, David, because of his transgressions, recieved forgiveness for all but the murder of Uriah, for which he is still unforgiven, but he received a promise of the Lord that his soul would not be left in Hell. He will be resurrected at the end of the Millenium. Because of his transgressions, he has fallen from his exaltation.
David's life and example shows us the need to endure in righteousness to the end. He was a man who was 'after the Lord's own heart', he spoke by the spirit and had revelations. He paid, and is still paying, a heavy price for his disobedience to the commandments of God. So, the mercies of David is the promise of resurrection to all of us despite our sins, if we repent. Even though a serious sin such as murder may keep us from exaltation, true repentance can still keep us from the chains of hell.
I'm off the soapbox-please add/comment/dispute/clarify all you want. I was blown away by that one little 10 minute study of this one comment. More, please?
