Subject: Only the Good die young

I have always wondered were that statement came from ?
It has a lot of meaning to it.
Not so much that people that are incredibly good die young such a children or before their life really begin as adults but more in the way they die.
I have noticed that people who live good lives seem to die at peace or quietly were others fight death to the bitter end in pain and suffering the way they lived their lives.
Does any of this make since to others out there ? Have any of you seen this as well?
