I haven't seen recent statistics showing the frequency of a particular age group dying, but the life insurance companies have statistics tables showing the life expectancy and mortality rates for any given age.
..... Various religions/belief systems promise all sorts of goodies for those who conform to their deity's (or should that read their clergy's?) requirements (in paradise or heaven), while all non-members and dissidents are supposed to suffer for eternity in hell or equivalent. This may be just a carrot/stick approach not at all based on reality, just about as true as the Santa Claus/Father Christmas, tooth fairy, stork with babies stories.
..... Did you notice how at funerals (most? all?) mourners are sad, never happy that their loved one now is in heaven, reaping the rewards for a "good" kind of life? Or maybe all those sad mourners may possibly dread the fate of their loved one in hell?
..... The "good" young ones get their rewards early, while the "bad" old ones, maybe, are given a chance to mend their evil ways during the extra time they are given before their physical death, possibly being tortured by very painful ill health for many years?
