Willmina beckoned R'geto to take a seat then spoke.

"Shades of some of the things I've heard about Herra Weyr, especially with some of the restrictions placed on Candidates. I've never heard of the abandonment you described, though. I can assure you that not a one of Shetanth's Clutch will EVER be abandoned!"

As soon as she said this there was a bugle from the Hatching Sands to confirm it.

Willmina smiled.
"She sgrees, as you can hear. As for your fears, don't let them concern you with me. I have also had my run-ins with overbearing superiors. I guess you could say that my Shetanth and I were told to leave Telgar by the Weyrwoman there as well." She thought about telling him the reason but refrained. It was the past and it was done. "The things you mentioned are not something my Weyrleader or myself will oust a rider over."
She paused to recall his asking about Avidail.
"Avidail is here and I've had no problems with her as a Candidate thus far. I expect she will Impress well. As I've told a few other girls- it is the dragonets that choose, not the other way around. It is an honor to Impress any dragon. I have emphasized that to them. All that can be done is to wait and see, R'geto."

She sat back awaiting his response.
