Subject: Many people converted to a pull start because the earlier EZ starters kept stripping gears due to a pin falling out on one of the gears, and the main gear was plastic, so the gears would strip all the time. The newer EZ starts have the metal gear and the pin doesn't fall off. Nothing like those finger blisters when you truck doesn't want to start and you keep yanking it. Thanks god for EZ starts.

  • EZ start breaks you are done for the day. If you were me you would bring your cordless drill use a socket adaptor and remove the pull start. Next get a socket that fits the one way nut. Put the drill in the correct direction and bam you have a back up electric starter dooh..........When the motor starts remove the one way nut and your drill....With the EZ start you are pretty much done for the day haven to go home and fix it. Pull starters come off pretty easy and can be fixed in the field.. (NT) -- Lance Seattle, WA., 08:25:35 02/27/02 Wed
