Subject: 1/10 Electric Touring Cars (Tamiya TA093 Pro and RS)

Hey guys, I picked-up a couple of Tamiya RC Cars for my kids--they were used, of course, and they didn't come with motors, batteries, nor ESC.... Any idea on what to look for when I buy these? I know that the less "turns" a motor has, the "faster" it is, but I want to balance performance with battery life; and besides, at least at first, the kids probably couldn't use "hyper-drive." I mean, they need enough to spank Russman's wee little Micro RS4.... Any thoughts?
