"overdrive" sounds like a good idea right about now.

I agree.

I've just finished the ENTIRE tenor score. It's still an evolving piece, but quite complementary. I was doing it with the snare scores in mind, but I haven't heard the complete snare score (start to finish) so it may need to be roughed up a bit.

Yes, tenors bring so much to the table. Even more so when properly tuned.

but only a strong Tenor Drum instructor

I believe we have a viable score for the tenors for the march set. We used it last year. We're only adding one more tune and it's the same time sig as the one preceding it. It shouldn't be too much work to add another retreat tenor score.

On the whole, we're making progress. We haven't heard the snare score start to finish, and we're not even sure we have a bass drummer. If we can have those things on Wednesday, I would feel more comfortable running the ACPB out there in two weeks. Otherwise, I don't think we're ready for it as a band.

We still need EVERYONE playing their pipes more at home. I can't begin to tell you what a world of difference it makes when everyone just plays their pipes about 20 minutes every other day. It keeps the reeds from drying out too much which makes it easier to tune and keep them in tune. If your chanter is all over the place at practice it's mainly because the reed isn't used to getting warm and damp.
