Thank You Jenn for your advice to Cory about not breeding a shelter dog. Most reputable shelters require spay/neuter anyhow, but I would like to add for Cory's sake, even with a purebred, papered, etc, dog, think twice about breeding, please. Many breeders are good and reputable and genuinely love the breed and their dogs but that does not change the fact that SO MANY wonderful purebred dogs are dying in shelters EVERY DAY. I have pits at my shelter here in Indiana that would be wonderful pets but rescues don't have room for them so they are going to die because there are just too many homeless pits.
Every Joe Blow off the street thinks they are going to be cool and make lots of money breeding pits. I see it everyday at the vet hospital (my second job). It truly breaks my heart.
