Nomenclature is, as you say, Don, the way of the conqueror. The dichotomy between names is a register of opposing views. The term Bandit Queen ... is it the same as African Queen? It's in the mind of the perceiver and freedom fighter/terrorist/whatever is nomenclature that describes the describer rather than they who are being described.
