Honeoye has been in pretty bad shape the last 1 1/2 months.
The water level has been down and the water temperature has been up. This has caused quite a bit of slop and floating vegetation out to about 100 feet from shore all around the lake. The northern half of the lake has had floating dead weeds as well as the slop which really smells bad.
The best thing I can say about it is that the bass seem to be active under the slop. They have been hitting lures like the weedless frog, the mouse and texas rigged plastic worms.
With the rain this week the level has come back up a bit. I caught 2 nice bass and a 19 inch pickerel off my dock tonight in 1/2 hour. All hit a buzzbait.
I hope to hear some more reports from you guys soon.
Good luck.
Norm
