 Honeoye lake is in a real state of flux right now. Saturday, 3/09/02 I was fishing open water off my breakwall with no jacket on (bass and walleye seasons are still open til March 15 here). Yesterday, my cove froze over again. Today, its open water again. I have off tomorrow so I will try to get out again.
My fishing buddy, John, spent some time talking to the fisheries dept. at the DEC. They said that they are continuing to stock walleye fry in the lake and that their walleye netting survey produced some pike up to 8 lbs. They are not sure if the pike population will expand.
