Keeping new employees alive, basic guideline to building an organization in Four Lands.

Sorl's had about three different sizeable companies of PC's under him. I wont even go into what my earlier character's have accomplished in their leadership roles.

They died because:

1: They were PKed.
2: They left the city.
3: They turned traitor.
4: Sporadic support by their employer.

I had the best luck employing large batches at once when momentum was thick and giving them the freedom to patrol the areas immediate of Kaiden. For things to work though, you almost always need a good, gritty reliable second in command who gets their hands dirty on a regular basis. (Almost impossible to find)

Fact is, many of the players of Four Lands are simply not content with staying within Kaiden so I've had the best success letting them out to hunt but urging them to do so in small bands. My first pc worked as an "Outrider" for Nadu back in the day with a friend of mine. We were mobile, effective and travelled in a steady pair which allowed us to establish a base and grow.

As a clan leader, once your able to 'grow' your dutiful band of hunters your able to begin hiring merchants.

A: Your merchant now has guards to keep him/her protected from various dangers.

B: Your merchant's wanderlust can now be quelled and even be productive with the previous band of established guards.

Merchant PC's, if played correctly can generate a -huge- amount of funds. With the 'blossoming' npc hiring system, there's tons of worth to spend your gold on also.

Then its whichever direction you want to take your peoples.
