Made the mistake of converting to points three years ago. Seemed that everywhere would have same facilities as Sunningdale Village. Beware. They do not. None that we have visited have private jaccuzis, etc.

Hang on to Paradise Club is my advice.

>We converted to points just over a year ago and so far it seems to be working for us. Plenty of two for one offers. We have been to Santa Cruz which had private jaccuzis and the best of equipment and are going to San Diego later this year which also has these flagship facilities. I think the points system probably works best for old codgers like me, retired with plenty of time and able to take holidays at any time of year. It seems expensive, but working out our 4 weeks holidays taken so far and further six booked into next year, mostly in 2 bed units, the annual membership cost and maintenance payments are working out at an average of £150 per week taken. This compares favourably at the moment against £430 for my one Monterey week, now ceded. We held out at first but with retirement, it did not make financial sense to keep strictly to weeks so we traded two weeks in and ceded the others. This saved a fair bit on maintenance fees and opened the door for longer holidays, albeit working within a restricted list of venues if we want to keep costs to a minimum. Just hoping CLC do not move the goalposts to much, as they apparently have done in the past with other CLC owners.

Was that CLC points or RCI points? I had the hard sell to cede my fixed weeks to the CLC points system for a price that was laughable and easy to refuse. I kept my fixed week at paradise but ceded it to RCI points and haven't regretted it ....yet!

I ceded into RCI points in 2003 and now get the equivalant of 6 weeks holiday for my original 2 fixed weeks(29+30) in 1 bed apt at Monterey. No regrets at all, I am having to give points away as struggling to use them! Karen

We ceded our weeks 31 and 32 in a 2 bed to RCI in 2003 as well. Even with holidays out of school term time we are well pleased with our decision. We get two weeks in a 2 bed in August, a week in a 2 bed at Easter and still have to carry loads of points forward to the next year. Points do give flexibility but I'd go with RCI every time.
