Checking out the RCI website and online resort directory, it appears that for 2005 Paradise has no award whatsoever - no Gold Crown, no Resort of International Distinction and no Hospitality award. According to the same website, Monterey has lost its gold crown and now has Hospitality. Not even RID.
Interesting to find out how CLC justify the high fees given this. All the same, it could be part of a sales ploy to get you to change to points. For those in the know, it is common knowledge that sales doesn't care two hoots about the resorts rating.

It will be extremely upsetting if it has lost both Gold Crown and RID. Don't know why because it is still an attractive resort and appeared to be well run when we were there in October. I have emailed Club la Costa to ask why it has lost its rating when they have assured us we would be on target to get back the Gold Crown.

CLC said that The Paradise Club still has its RID rating.
Hope they are right.

We visited Paradise and Monterey last week and posed the question of RCI gradings. Bill, one of the senior sales guys went and checked and came back confirming that both resorts had been severely downgraded but could not explain why. An e mail reply from CLC main office this week claims both resorts are still at RID (Paradise) and Gold Crown ( Monterey) RCI Still shows both downgraded but have still to answer my e mailed question as to why.

We have just returned from "The Monterey Club" and I can assure you it has no ratings at all its a pathetic show of its former glory of being the premier site in all of tenerife the staff moral is at such a low the current owners " CLC " appear to me to be destroying the site as the majority of weeks owners know what a group of con merchants they are and won't convert therefore they are prepared to bring the site to its knee's so it isnt a fit place to be. There is no Restaurant any more and what low quality food there is is only available 10:30 am to 5pm there is now a 1:5 euro charge for changeing sun bed towels and room mainteneance is none existent unless you complain about the standards.

I had a meeting with Danniel Lee resort manager and he has a distinct lack of interest in anything about the site

I wrote a 4 page list of objections and complaints and Gayle has forwarded this to Roy the owner of CLC ( does this stand for " Crap Living Conditions " )and i'm awaiting both hers and Roys response.

Cheers,

Gary

Phase 3 Not still being completed, November is the new opening date, so i guess some work is still in progess, though i would imagine this would be of a 'fit out' nature rather than major construction. I'm off to Monterey in the next couple of weeks & will report back what i find.

Cheers Badger,
in 2001 the then Paradise group and their sales personnel, tried to sell me a 2 bed apartment in the unbuilt phase 3 with the promise that it would be available for use in 2002.How glad I am that I resisted the temptation.By the way,the salesman now works for CLC in Tenerife,at The Paradise!!!
Happy holiday,
Gary.
