We too,had a similar experience in June.Went for the lunch then somehow got stuck for 5 hours hard sell.Curiosity killed the cat, because after touring the show apartments I was intrigued to know the financial side of things.
I own a fixed week at The Monterey,a 3 bedroomed penthouse.
The salesman and his manager[partner in crime]wanted my fixed week and 3999 pounds to give me 2001 vacation points, which equates to a gold membership. My week was worth 1750 points, according to their resort brochure, and then the extra 251 points would be the deal.I declined their offer and was not at all surprised when, just 5 minutes later, they came back with an offer of 2999 pounds plus a one off 500 points to be used this year. The maintenance fee was somewhere in the region of 700+ pounds and a yearly membership of 127 pounds.
Much to their dissappoinment,I again declined their offer and left them somewhat bemused. We received no further hassle from the salesman during our stay.
