Could anyone provide an up to date email contact list for CLC. I have emailed them 3 times, through their now and not even received an acknowledgement. I know it might not be so exciting for them to answer questions on walking away from the site but you would at least have thought a reply would be forthcoming. I guess their idea of quality of service has now completely gone?

I don't know if this will be of any use but I'll post it anyway. This is a query sent for which amazingly I got a response, admittedly not the one I was hoping for.

"Dear K. Bein,

Is it likely we shall recieve a formal summary of the costs that make up the maintenance fees for 2005?

By comparison to other similar standard resorts, members of the Paradise Club appear to be singled out in being over charged. In truth the pitiful cost reduction in this years fees is likely to fuel the fire of many owners who may adopt the same line of thought in simply not paying.

It seems that with the extortionate fees of last year, the new resort management team are working to an agenda that is targeting a resentment to its long term members. There is no proper structure in offering help with spreading payment only threats of mounting surcharges for non payments or club expulsion.

I don't suppose your sales and marketing staff would consider buying week back, seeing that by the costs they seem so well sought after? (No I thought not)."

The reply;
"Thank you for your letter regarding the maintenance fees.
This year there is no break down for the annual fees due to the fact that Management Charge is now operated on a different basis so as to provide greater stability, and a fixed price arrangement was made with the Management Company. Once the Annual General Meeting 2005 is held you will receive the Management Company report from which you will be able to find out about the work done on your resort which the management fees cover.

The only target of the Resort Management is to provide the members with excellent service and bring the resort to the standard of all Club La Costa resorts which are proud of its excellency.

We do not buy back the weeks or run any resale programmes. However if you wish to sell your membership you can contact VOICE, which stands for Vacation Owners Independent Coalition in Europe who you can contact by e-mail uk@voice.eu.com or by telephone +44 (0)870 240 8993 or visit their website www.voice.eu.com and receive all the necessary information for resale of your weeks.

We hope this assists with your enquires, and should you require any additional information, or we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact this office at your convenience."

This is the email address that I received the following reply from dated 19th November 2004. csa24@clublacosta.com


"We confirm that you only need to post us the original certificate signed on the reverse by all parties together with a cover letter stating your wish to surrender your property in order we can proceed to close your account. Once the account has been closed you won't be liable for any maintenance fees."
