Subject: Got a survey question for you all.....What do you do? I mean, what is your occupation? Just curious.....

Denise and I were talking last night; we know what some of you do for a living. It's just me being curious.

I just finished my first year at our county Planning Commission. I am a Land Use Planner / Zoning Administrator. I authorize zoning permits and go out on site inspections to make sure that zoning regulations are followed through properly. I also review many of the subdivision and land development plans in the county. I worked on a comprehensive plan this past spring and am now working on revising some of the zoning ordinances for the municipalities in my county. This summer I hope to be able to attend some computer mapping training seminars. It's a interesting job and I really enjoy it. The downside (and there always is a downside, isn't there!) is that there all always planning commission and supervisors meetings that I must attend every month and it can become tedious sometimes.

Before I graduated from college, I worked at an International Paper plant, working a 7-day, swing shift. We made the diaper linings for Pampers, Luvs, and generic brands of disposable diapers. We also made Bounce fabric softener sheets as well as some roofing paper materials, waistband products, and the like. I hated it because I only got one weekend off every month and we worked most holidays, too. Very depressing.

So....what do you do?
