Subject: Garrett Part 2, rethoughts....

Hello All,

After careful consideration, I decided not to post Part 2 of the Infinium discrimination tests. As much as I would love to post it, I feel we are gaining no ground whatsoever. I was contacted by a few personal friends, and decided not to post in the benefit of field tests that are going to be released soon in the major prospecting magazines.

Whether I have any creditability left, I know what I report will only be 360 degrees from the field testers report, and fell I might damage their creditablity if anything. I'm not here to bash the Garrett Infinium by any means whatsoever. I just feel the early "Hype or Rumors" really made this unit to be much more than it is. Without a doubt, it is a great step for Garrett, and I really hope they are onto something.

I just would like to point this statement out, which is directly out of the Garrett Infinium manual -

"As with all PI detectors, eliminating the detection of iron is difficult if not impossible; however the reverse discrimination technique is effective at identifying most iron. Be aware, however that some small iron may behave like a desirable target, and some desirable targets like coins and large nuggets may behave like iron."

I feel this is an excellent statement made by Garrett, and they clearly tell you that some targets could act like other things. However, take this statement against "early claims," and you will understand my points clearly!

Thanks Steve, Jim, Bill and others for understanding. A American detector manufacture has gotten off the ground, and hopefully in the future will really have something special. Good luck to Garrett and all...

P.S. If anyone would like to discuss my findings, please email me at - auplacers@yahoo.com

Best regards,

Rob Allison
