Subject: dynamite caps

I was out in the El Paso-Randsburg greater area over the last weekend. Scouting new areas. One of our group found a nice nugget using his SD-2200d/11-inch DD coil. I found eleven old fuse-type caps buried in a large area. They were the older copper style as back before WW-2.

Back about 1939 one of my friends, Everett "Mush" Murrich set one off by pounding on it with a toy bowling pin. He was home alone and knew better as they were common items back at this time, Ely, Nevada, a mining town. Mush lost one eye and several finger tips. Be careful in digging targets, especially around old idle mines.

Saturday was windy, especially that night, however Sunday and Monday very pleasant.
