Subject: A real-life soap opera!

I have encountered a problem and do not know much about the Army in order to determine if a co-worker is absolutely full of crap. Thought somebody here might be able to help with some input. This is a long story sort of so I apologize up front. :)

People involved in this intriguing story:
Myself
B - a female friend of mine for the last 8 years.
M - a co-worker of mine and B's
W - the "boyfriend" of M
A - the possible "boyfriend" of B

OK here we go!

B is a single mother of a 12-year-old girl who does not date since having her daughter. M is a single lady with no children and wants to be best buds with B. So M decides to hook B up with the friend of her online boyfriend.

B and M live in Michigan with me. M met W in an online chatroom and he lives in Kentucky and is in the Army. W is going to travel to Michigan with A to go out on a double date wit B and M.

On the "date night", B and M wait for hours. From 4pm until 1am and the guys never show up. The next day, M tells B that the guys were in a terrible accident only a few miles away from meeting the ladies. They were medivacked to a hospital over two hours away from here and not the closest big city hospital. Supposedly the guys are in and out of comas and A had his jaw wired shut because the deer that went through their windshield hit him directly in the face and broke his jaw.

The "accident" was only 3 weeks ago! Since then---the guys have recovered enough to be taken back to Kentucky and are being medically discharged from the Army according to M.

Shady little facts:
1. M never has let B talk to either guy or communicate with them directly.
2. M went to see the guys in the hospital but did not offer to take B with her.
3. M claims that she is now two weeks pregnant by her guy. (Yes, at the hospital they created a life)
4. W was in the Army for 18 years and is a Lt. Drill Instructor by choice.
5. W is only a Lt. after 18 years by his choice to not be promoted any more, he just wanted to teach.
6. W and A are both being medically discharged with medical pay and retirement pay of $3500 a month EACH!
7. After only one month from the accident, both guys will be discharged.
8. M said that after 20 years of serving the Army, W would have been able to retire with full benefits and pay. He will miss it by 2 years.


Are you lost? I am! Hope it is not too confusing for you. I am trapped in a rough place. Under no way can I say anything to my friend about M being full of it. She will be hurt enough if it is a lie and I do not want any part of it. I am just too curious to find out if all that she says is possible.

Any ideas out there? I can not believe myself that this is actually a real scenario involving adults. Seems like a high school fable.
