A new year is here. It has now been 2,002 years since the birth of a man that a significant number of people accept as the promised Messiah of the Torah. We recently celebrated His birth in a seasonal observance that was actually coopted from what have been referred to as "pagan religions." The Nazis had no goose step on the early church. Those religious patriarchs realized that the easiest way to spread their dogma was to steal away the former meaning and significance of observed celebrations.

With the advent of the Julian calendar to replace the Gregorian roadmap used to mark the heavenly travels of earth through time, we switched to a January 1 observance of the beginning of a new year. Previously, the new year began with the restoration of life that came with the advent of spring.

Whatever day is marked as the new beginning in your life and beliefs, it is just that - a new beginning. Sage and I wish for each of you a joyful life's account of 365 days filled with joy and fulfillment. Sure, we know that pain and hurt shall also come during these yet unborn tomorrows for each of us, but we wish for you, each and all, joy and wonder in such abundance that no hurt or pain can diminish the magesty of your being alive and aware during every day of this year before us.

From your humble hosts in this wordy world... may 2002 be the year that shall forever be filled with your greatest joys until it is time for us to wish the same for you in 2003.

La'chaim.
