Subject: Opinions on the leadership requisites of the President.

It seems to me that a leader, as in the case of the President of the US has to have several notable qualities to be considered truly qualified for the office. The first is intelligence. I don't mean just average intelligence but uncommon clarity of thought and focus. You don't need to know everything about everything, but you should have a basic understanding of the more pressing issues which will face you in office. This entails higher education of some
sort, preferably formal education, although some are capable of self motivation when expanding their personal knowledge over a wide range of subjects.
Articulation is also key when discussing qualities inherent in good leaders. The President must have a better than average command of the english language in order to articulate his views in a succinct manner. He must be able to argue with command and confidence. He must have patience and a decisive mind and outward persona in order to be taken seriously by other world leaders.
The President should also have a clear understanding of the constitution and his role as chief executive officer of the country. He must be ethical in his decisions regarding the constitutional boundaries of his office and the responsibilities thereof.
He must be forceful in his convictions, especially in his role as commander in chief of the armed services. He must be respectful of the opposing views of trained personnel within the various forces of the US military, and careful in his consideration of military operations.
He must be diplomatic with regard to how he conducts himself in the company of domestic, as well as foreign leaders.
Finally, he should be experienced with delegating authority to individuals who specialize in areas within his sphere of executive control.
The President should lead by example when it comes to moral standards, not preach his particular moral code to others.
He should truly understand his role/s as President and not involve himself in rhetorical arguments which have nothing to do with the limited power of the office. He should never bring disgrace to the office, as it is not his to begin with, but the people's.
To disgrace it is to disgrace the people who put him there.
