Subject: Duh Debates

Ok sports fans, it's time to rate the debate!
First let me just say that this is the first time in my life that I actually believed
myself to be more articulate, more confident, more intelligent and more personable than
either of the two top candidates running.
I know that sounds overblown and pretentious, even portentous... So be it.
I gotta tell ya, I was as bored by this event as a cat is with a dead bird. Sure the
first five minutes are always intriguing but after that, I'm looking for fresh meat.
NO FRESH MEAT HERE folks! NO insight! No genuine leadership! No spark of brilliance!
I don't know about you, but I take far more away from discussions between myself and
my friends...heck, even with people on this very board than I did from this fiasco.
I took notes during the course of this pathetic political presentation and following
the 27 points of contention I penned, found little merit in the rhetoric spewed by
either candidate. I'm not saying that each of these men didn't make a few salient
points but the majority of the questions asked by the moderator where either sidestepped
outright or watered down to the point of ennui.
Bush couldn't follow up a single statement without sounding like a dimwit and Gore
spent too much time reflecting upon his "close friend's" (aka people who's personal tragedy
he uses to deflect criticism) lives to actually address issues like the Buddhist Temple scandal
and the Lincoln bedroom's metamorphosis into a rather pricey hotel room.
Frankly both of these guys came across as humorless, narrow-minded puppets. I sensed
nothing within them to suggest that either one was worthy of our highest political office!
Where's the intelligence? Where's the bravado? Where's the leadership? Where's the human-
F#@%ing-being here?!? Where's the person we're supposed to look up to?
I'm all done with these guys...
