Subject: Are We Blind Too?

I posted this on a list that I am on. I thought that if I posted it here, I might get some good discussion going.

I am referring to the recent hymn sing, at the auditorium.

It smells like a trap to me. Maybe I'm being a little
cynical here, but what would be the reason that the
COC and Restorationists would meet together.

As far as me loving my friends who are Catholic or in
various protestant, denominations, or in the COC, of
course I do. However there is something very
different about this.

They are inviting us to "reconcile" whatever that
means. It goes along with their becoming a "symbol of
peace", "a church dedicated to peace." I don't buy
it.

They know, and we know of the pleasant memories we
have of singing hymns together in the auditorium.

First they "kick" us out, with our beliefs, and then
try to reconcile. Hmmmm. I'm not a trusting person,
I guess.

Are they going to "go back" to the way things used to
be. They have admittingly said "no." Have you read
their latest articles in the Herald about the name
change? Have you taken the time to read what they
very plainly say in the Restoration Studies I-VIII?
What about, "Let Contention Cease?"

They remind me of Rodney King, the black man that was
so badly beaten, in L.A. He said, "Can't we all be
friends?" I'm always careful when I go into "their
house."

Do you think my cat would be friends with you, after
you kicked him? I'm just like my cat.

That's not called unforgiving; that's just common sense.

Mamusz
