I walked off towards the gym so I could change my clothes. When I got there the squad was already there chagning. So I went to the locker that had my name on it and changed into some blue shorts with "SEXY" on the back of them, with a blue tank top and blue air max. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail. I adjusted my clothes in the mirror at the back of the locker room and was ready for practice.
Me: Okay girls. Where would you like to practice in the gym or outside where we'll be for football games?
Christina: I think we should go outside. I mean it is a nice day today.
Janae: No, I think we should be inside. She only wants to see the football team.
Me: Okay. It is a nice day, so I guess we could go out there. But you all have to be focused and no looking at those wanna be NFL players.
We all laughed and headed outside. As soon as we came out the football team was on their way out to te field. Just my luck, Nhik was at the head of the team. I tried to avoid eye contact with but we already know that this wasn't working. I could tell he was trying to do the smae thing but it wasn't working. And of course someone noticed.
Rashia: So Driya, did you know that Nhik was back in town?
Me: Actually yes I did. But why would that be of any concern and importance to you?
Konia: Well you are starring at him kind of hard. Are you trying to get what you two had back?
Me: I don't think that's any of your business. Why do you want to know anyway? Do you think you have a chance with him?
Konia: Oh no. But my girl Rashia here does. Besides I'm already with a college boy.
Me: Right. Keep telling yourself that. ANYWAY let's get started. First things first, does anyone here want to be on the basketball squad?
Only about five girls raised their hands including myself. This was a good thing because Rashia and Konia didn't raise their hands.
Me: Okay. Well I guess we'll be holding new try-outs about a month before basketball season or do you want to held them as soon as football season is over?
Regina: I think we should do it now. You know, so that way the girls can practice with us and have more time to get everything down before they actually start cheering.
Renee: Yeah, and plus we'll have understudies just incase one of us get hurt, benched for grades, or voted off.
Me: Okay I think that's a good idea. Does anyone disagree with this?
No one raised their hands. An actual good thind sign.
Me: Okay I'll talk to Ms. Johansen and let her know what we decided. I'm pretty sure she'll let the five of us hold them in about two weeks since our first game isn't until about three to four weeks from now.
Tamera: Coo, so what are we doing today?
Me: Mostly all we were going to do is decide some things, but we should get a little practice in.
Rashia: Do you think you have time? Or do you have other plans to attend to?
Maria: Rashia will you just shut up? Damn, why are you so jealous of her because Nhik is still in love with her and wants her and not you?
Konia: Maria, I know you beeter watch yo'self before you get it.
Maria: Well then bring it on ma. You ain't said nothin but a word.
Me: Maria, really she is not worth getting kicked off the squad and suspended from school. Now can we just practice.
Girls: Okay.
When proceded to go over the things we went over in camp this summer before school. Then when practice was over we went to change. After I got changed I looked at my phone to see what time it was. It was about 5:38pm when I got to my car. I tried to get what Maria said about Nhik out of my head. I mean Nhik couldn't have possibly said that to anyone.
When I got home it was about 5:53pm so I ran inside and up to Tiny's room. Lyric was over playing with Malante` while they listened to Aaliyah's CD. Malante` looked over at me and smiled. My baby knew his mami.
Tiny: Sup ma? How was practice?
Me: Nada, it was okay I guess. I have to go pick something out to wear and shower. Can y'all get lil man dressed?
Lyric: No problem. And we already picked something out for you to wear.
Tiny: Yeah so all you have to do is shower and clean yo'self up cuz you smell like outside.
Me: Oh thanks for the compliment. Let me go hop in the shower.
Lyric: Yeah yeah. Go on now.
Me: Okay okay I'm going.
I went to my bathroom to take my shower. I could only take a 30 minute to 45 minute shower since he was coming at seven. I took a long hot shower to get the stinch of outside and sweat off of me. I had about 20 to 25 minutes to get dressed and do my hair and make up. That's when I started thinking. What if Nhik didn't show up and was only doing this for a kick? Just to show I still love him. Even though I do, I don't want him to know.
I looked at the outfit Lyric and Tiny picked out for me. It was a white baby tee that said "Love Me Cuz" in airbrush with different shades of blue and some aqua colored sporty type pants with "I'ma Bad Girl" on the back. [See it goes together, "Love Me Cuz I'ma Bad Girl" lol] They had my white Saucony's out to put on with the outfit. I just put my hair in a high ponytail with two strands of hair for bangs. I put on some Mac lip gloss, some blue glittery eye shadow with some mascara, and sprayed some Love Spell fragrance from Victoria's Secret.
I went into Tiny's room to show them how I looked.
Me: So what do you guys think?
Tiny: Very nice. You clean up good ma.
Lyric: Nhik is gonna love you tonight.
Me: Whatever. What time is it?
Tiny: About 6:55pm. He'll be here in a little bit for you and Malante`.
Me: If I remember correctly he'll be here at about 7:10pm. He's always been late.
Just then there was a horn blowing outside and a car door shut. The doorbell rang and that got me hysterical. One because my parents were home. And more than likely my mami would answer the door. She wasn't too fond of Nhik these days since Malante` was born.
Me: Oh my gosh. He's here. What is he doing here? He can't be here. This isn't happening.
Lyric: Girl will you calm down? Mami is getting the door.
Tiny: Yeah so take a few breaths. In and out, Now here take Malante and his bad. Make sure you get his bottles out of the frig.
Me: Okay okay. But how can I calm down when Mami is getting the door. Y'all know she doesn't like Nhik right now.
Tiny: Girl go!
Me: Okay okay. Are you two coming down too?
Lyric: No. This is your date not our's. Now go.
Me: Okay. Thanks, bye.
Lyric: Yeah, have fun now bye.
Tiny: Bye.
I went downstairs to the kitchen to get Malante`'s bottles. I guess my mami heard me in the kitchen because she came in there. And she had this look on her face. The smae exact look she had when I told her I was pregnant and Nhik wouldn't be in my baby's life, cuz he was moving away.
Allierin: Mija, Nhikoles esta` aqui. ¿Por qué? [My daughter, Nhik is here. Why?]
Me: ¿Qué? [What?]
Allierin: Don't play stupid Alessandriya.
Me: Me play stupid what?
Allierin: ¿Alessandriya me dice porqué él todo de un repentino ahora demostrado para arriba? [Alessandriya tell me why he all of a sudden showed up now?]
Me: He's in my calculus class at school. We started talking, and he asked me if I wanted to hang out after school.
Allierin: And what about Malante`? I hope you aren't putting him off on Shai.
Me: No. He's coming with me. Besides TINY always offers to watch him for me half the time. So please don't go there with me.
Allierin: Did you tell him?
Me; No, not yet. But I will tell him tonight. That is if you haven't told him already.
Allierin: No that's your decision. He's your son and I can't make decision for his life. Now go have fun and tell him before someone else does.
Me: Yes mami.
My mami gave Malante` a kiss on his forehead before she walked out of the kitchen. I just shook my head and walked in the opposite direction to the living room, and there was Nhik sitting on the couch. Damn he was looking fine. I almost fainted but remembered I had Malante` in my arms and that I didn't want him to know I still loved him.
Aiight y'all I'll add the rest tomorrow or whateva since I work tonight til close. Hope you're enjoying the story.
